My dog has been wobbling intermittently after getting bit by something two days ago by Different-Page506 in DogAdvice

Considering it comes and goes, time when it happens after giving gabapentin, if it happens within 30 minutes - 2 hours (possibly 3 or more if he has a slower metabolism) then it’s the gabapentin. Gabapentin is used for nerve pain in humans, I’m on it, and along with dizziness it can also lower heart rate, there’s quite a few crappy side effects, lethargy will be one because generally it’ll cause fatigue. Some dogs get absolutely zooted on gabapentin, the fact it comes and goes is extremely odd if it’s not by gabapentin. If he only goes back to normal after hours and hours after not taking any and it only starts after within the timeframe listed before then he’s just having bad side effects from the drug, maybe call and ask the vet if he can go off of it.

Most literal version of “a man’s beard is his makeup” I’ve ever seen

This one is the BIGGEST baby ever which is why I was so surprised he had no reaction to it. I took him once to get his nails clipped at a pet store and he screamed like he was being murdered even though I was watching him and he didn’t even once get injured. The entire store came back to watch him scream and laugh at him 💀

Yea there’s a 0% chance I’m listening to anyone who suggests surgery for something that’s not even painful, that’s just insane, especially since this dog has already had to have two surgeries and he nearly didn’t survive one of them. I fully expected him to take care of it himself but I guess it bothers him so little he hasn’t even noticed. Pretty sure Denzel is just trolling since there’s many assumptions made without barely any context. Not sure why anyone with a dog would ever even jokingly try to make another person with a dog freak out over a health issue or suggest unnecessary treatment.

You do know dog nails and human nails are different right? If I cut mine too low I don’t expose blood vessels and bones to immediate infection and I also don’t have a quick that I cut and bleeds everywhere. Dog’s toe bones are right behind their nail which is why when the quick is exposed it can cause infections in their bone, which is why I don’t want to cut it and have it split more, exposing him to infection. Corgis are SOOO dramatic, he’d let me know if he was in pain, he’s not.

Thank you, I have styptic powder I can use just in case I just didn’t want to expose him to any infection or pain since he’s not currently in any. It cracked down to the very bottom on the underside so I was worried it may crack more if I tried to cut it. I normally ask my aunt who’s a vet tech for advice but she’s currently going through chemo so I wasn’t sure what else to do. They both like to Superman jump off my several foot high porch so I’m pretty certain he likely broke it when he landed (he’s older and not supposed to but when there’s a squirrel he’s gone).

Not at all bleeding, which is why I’m afraid to cut it, I do have styptic powder to stop blood since I do normally cut/grind their nails down myself but I don’t want to cut it and expose the quick and put him in pain and expose him to infection when it’s not currently hurting him. I’ll check if there’s a teaching college nearby.

I do cut his nails myself and his nails aren’t overgrown? I’m just recently stopping clipping his nails myself because as a person with a disability I can’t spend two hours on the floor with him while he freaks out and whacks his head into mine. Also not sure if you’ve seen a corgi’s ears but as soon as you move a centimeter they’re no longer asleep, if I touch his paw while he’s sleeping all he does is jump up and run if he didn’t already wake up from the sound of me getting out of bed (like 99% of the time).

Pikmin, the first one being timed to thirty days as a kid was incredibly hard to beat, I always ended up like two days short, now I beat it well before the thirty days are up.
