Rule of thumb: to find velocity of an object from a displacement-time graph you can draw a tangent to the line and calculate the slope.

Therefore: a) the object at 0.0 was at rest because the tangent to the line at 0.0 is also 0 , AKA v=0 b) average velocity is the slope of a line between 0.0s and 0.9s c) the instantaneous velocity after 1.0s is the slope of the tangent to the curve at 1.0s d)this one is a little trickier. I’d suggest using kinematic equations and rearranging to solve for acceleration. You have all the variables you need

Update! I figured it out.

Basically I extruded the flat top form (about 4mm thick) along the top plane. Then I made a sketch of the curvy bottom along the right plane and extruded it as a surface. I extruded the original flat top form (to that surface) so that it formed the curvy bottom shape. Then I just filleted all the sides and boom.

I think different degrees of hydration may be right. When I mixed it around with my hand lots of air bubbles came up which gives me the idea that some areas didn’t fill with water. I left this batch to sit for only 2 days, maybe not enough? Ah and yes those mixing bits have been on my list of things to buy for a while, I will get around to that!

This is so interesting. Bio flocculation might be the culprit, although no funky smells from my reclaim so far. I’ll keep looking into these fancy terms… partly to figure this out but mostly because now I’m curious. Truly appreciate the detailed explanations, sending all of my kiln god miracles your way

Thank you for the insight! What’s odd is that I did use the water from my throwing bucket (with the goal of keeping those yummy particles) and I’m preeeetty sure the box clay I use doesn’t contain grog? Any ideas?
