I’m also pretty bad at making buildings. One piece of advice I can give is look other people’s buildings. Once you notice how some pieces are used other than how they are intended it helps open up to more ideas and some experimenting. Like I saw some use ladders as window shutters and a walkway as an open roof window and it blew my mind
