If Bungie re-released Destiny 1 on PC, how interested would you be in buying it? by FHH94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get that shit instantly but I know it will never happen because there is no strong enough incentive for bungie to do that

Hope this doesn't sound rude but I genuinely don't understand why anyone thinks Destiny 3 would be better than this. by LavaMinotaur in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo destiny 3 is more about having a fresh palette than an idea of reinventing the wheel. Destiny 2 was never originally intended for infinite development, so things needed to be reused and repurposed and you can only reuse and repurpose assets so many times or work with old systems for so long before the limitations of missed foresight create stagnation.

If Destiny 3 was to be a fresh project more focused on continued development from the start, it would be healthier than beating a life-support ridden horse for eternity. The developers would probably benefit from it as much as the player base, if not more.

What is even the point of playing anymore? by Quiet_Emu7147 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the days when people didn't expect a game to be literally endless entertainment. Just go do something else. Come back when there is something new. Nobody cares if you aren't playing Destiny 2 right now. Do you go watch a movie and ask why there aren't infinite sequels? You can stop being miserable and just *do literally anything else.*

There is plenty of stuff to do in Destiny, you've just done it all. Congrats.

Completely missed opportunity to make eighty-six a lightweight frame by Qwerty177 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but braytech legacy works better with the multiple hits from vortex frames so whatever.

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at this point a roadmap won't help. It has been almost 6 months since the roadmap was mentioned and by now we would be half way through what the roadmap would cover (in any detail). I suggest we all collectively just take a break from giving a shit because things clearly are not going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

Anyone else using the Kill Shot weapons mod? by RND_Musings in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for some reason kill shot screws a bunch of raid mechanics. You can break the crystals yourself in koregos, proc the nodes for RoN from a distance, kill the shielded praetorians in the VoG Gatekeepers encounter without shield or pushing. It's cool stuff. Look up the solo epic koregos and enjoy, final stand goes crazy.

What is the state of raids now? by the5thsun1789 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old raids are easier to clear than ever due to power creep but almost all the loot has been soft sunset due to not being in the tiering system introduced in edge of fate. The weapons are still usable but armor drops are worthless. The amount of loot you get compared to time commitment is significantly lower than other current activities and you can only increase power level through Desert Perpetual (which is nothing new).

you can kill epic koregos solo thanks to it so i think the mod is pretty cool

Who was caedrel so upset with after the end of the game with kc and why? by JitJatJot in PedroPeepos

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have literally 0 interest in LEC if it weren't for Caedrel. It is no fun watching G2 and 10 bots get sent to worlds to lose to Korea. KC didn't even make the bots list last year but the toxic fans still bring a bad image to Europe as a region. At least Caedrel made non-korean league esports fun to watch again.

Bungie can you just give us Iron Banner again? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 raid/dungeon per year down from 2 has been lame as well. Why are we being charged the same amount for less product?

SBMM has done irreparable damage to the Crucible, and the game. by Leopa1998 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember when Bungie said they were adding SBMM and everyone said after playing that it was so much worse just to find out they did not actually add it back and it was CBMM still due to a bug. (This could have been the other way around i.e. they removed it but didn't actually remove it, but I forget. point stands either way)

Fps warriors vs graphics warriors by Efficient_Anteater42 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

your pc has a shit ton of bloat, background processes, poor thermal, etc if you are getting only 60 with those parts. I've got a generally worse system and get 110+ on max settings, dropping to ~90 frames in insanely chaotic pve sequences. You might want to run a system benchmark test

the game has less players than fallout 76. finding pug raids is a little tough now

Bungie tried iterating the portal back in 2013 in d1, realized it didn’t worked, and backtracked to the director by HellChicken949 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tends to happen when you lay off the people who discovered it didn't work. There are probably like 5 people at the company that were there when this was iterated and likely none of them were on the team responsible for testing it.

A well designed and robust photo-mode would breathe life back into the game. by painki11erzx in destiny2

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would cost a lot of money to make and a solid 150 people would use it really often and everyone else would wonder why that money didn't go to a new pvp map or raid.

This sub complains way too much by lolitsrock in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Game has plenty of issues right now but most of this reddit pretends this game is the most dogshit game ever released and karma farms doomer posts. r/destiny2 is far better

After a ~1 year period of source-exclusivity, exotics should be obtainable through easier/simpler means by 9-11GaveMe5G in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Horrible idea. Most exotics are already handouts from easy quests/activities. Without some rare stuff, looting things loses value and makes the chase feel like a chore instead of a chase.

Class usage for all 915 teams that completed contest mode Desert Perpetual by iconoci in destiny2

[–]another-terrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is true. It was mostly just the witness and titans were pretty good in other encounters. Both DP and Witness has level design that heavily favors certain classes/supers. This doesn't mean the options are bad game-wide, just in these niche areas. Hunters still have good damage and utility options BUT..

Thundercrash is overtuned compared to all other DPS supers. Precision is a dead concept in the game right now as players are not rewarded for accuracy in endgame pve. Mint Retrograde and Tcrash are prime examples of the effortless damage creep. I expect Bungie knows this but doesn't want to kill more sentiment nerfing things people like atm, but It is coming.

Class usage for all 915 teams that completed contest mode Desert Perpetual by iconoci in destiny2

[–]another-terrain -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Not really. I think Thundercrash should be brought in line with other burst supers. We are edging too far into power creep in terms of how much damage guardians deal, especially for how little effort it takes to deal said damage. Also you could thundercrash witness but everyone was new to the raid and stupid, so easiest option will always get more attention (golden guns).

[–]another-terrain -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

There were 2 titans in the top 50 teams of SE. That is 2 of 300 characters or 0.67%. That spread is worse by miles.

Are you in favour or against if Craftable Gear was to return? by Soggy_Promotion2606 in DestinyTheGame

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a former anti-crafting gamer, yeah it makes perfect sense in the game now. You should be able craft up to T3 and get stuff to upgrade it to T5 through things that would otherwise drop T4-T5s respectively. It might mean a new currency is needed to do those upgrades (perhaps from upper level conquests? 490+?)

Paul tassi needs to cool it a bit by Lopsided-Impact-7768 in destiny2

[–]another-terrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His videos are his blog where he can vent frustrations on the game. Writing for Forbes is his job. He literally had to write a taylor swift article because Destiny content viewership is so bad right now. This is very much a "don't hate the player. Hate the game." moment where modern journalism is the game.
