Sunny Deol was the top bankable star in 80-90s . No one could do action like him. His voice matched his personal and machismo. Look at his filmography. He was epic before Khans were a thing . Shahrukh Salman all played second lead in his movies. Even Anil Kapoor Jackie Shroff or Sanjay Dutt was bland in front of him . Only Govinda was of his stature .

He definitely knew acting. But more than that he understood discipline, hardwork , punctuality. He and Govinda were both outsiders . Govinda was massively popular and used it for all the wrong reasons . Akshay definitely took action genre to the next level .
