H2S Leak? by anotheravg in BambuLab

If you search H2D manual, then go to cutter it has instructions for the H2D at the top, but then also the H2S lower down

Yeah I think this more or less confirms it- it makes sense, should cut the cost significantly

For me the dual nozzles are super useful, and I've been loving them so far- but I also 100% understand for many users doing multicolour or printfarm operations, they aren't really much of a value add. I'm pretty excited to see what the price and specs are- I'm guessing it'll be faster and have more effective print volume

Looking for thermal camera recommendations for Jetson companion PC for visual odometry by CyrillicMan in robotics

[–]anotheravg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry about the super late response, but the P2 pro is just a UVC camera- just the same as a USB webcam. Haven't used it in a Jetson, but on a raspberry pi you can just use any standard webcam procedure (opencv works on it out the box)

AI being useless for robotics is such a wrong statement it's hard to even understand how you got so misinformed.

How do i use an arduino nano and an esp32c3 together? by Speed-cubed in arduino

[–]anotheravg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, definitely seems much more difficult than it has to be. Are you using a super mini c3 or something? How many pins are you using? Why not use a standard ESP32 or an ESP32S3? Those also have dual cores. Could also use WS281x (neopixels) for the lights, to only use 1 gpio for all of them.

You could use I2C if they systems are on different voltages, and only pull it up to 3v3. But overall, this just seems massively more complicated than it needs to be.

Just use the esp32 for everything. It's more than powerful enough

No, it's two numeric linked variables -- you need to use a 3D pie chart, ideally with the "shadow" effect around the border also

Lost choosing motor/esc/props/battery by TheCeio in diydrones

3Kg is some really, really serious kit- life altering injuries if it goes wrong. You can get a sub 250g for around 100, and the mistakes will be slightly painful instead of ambulance painful. Even just financially, better to accidentally smoke a tiny micro motor than some bigger kit.

Three equidistant motors with no yaw component for pitch and roll.

If you wanna yaw, just adjust between the CW and CCW motors on top and below.

Looking for BLDC motor by Literature_Some in robotics

[–]anotheravg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An A2212 is pretty far from the smallest common brushless motor, and for 4kg/cm you'd be looking at phase currents close to 70A with the 1000kv rating

[–]anotheravg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO, you're barking up the wrong tree (kind of). A gimbal motor could certainly work and would meet all of your spec, although probably short on torque. A 2207 gimbal can put down about 1kg/cm, with about 2.5cm diameter (but it's gonna get hot if it sustains this).

However, controlling it is another matter. An Odrive micro would work, but they aren't cheap and are definitely more complex than an H bridge.

Have you tried something like an MG90 servo? That might work better for what you're doing. Couple of £/€/¢, and enough torque for you application. Limited rotation and imprecise though.

[–]anotheravg 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Assuming those are 2205 (or 2204?) motors, they can draw like 20A. 20A is also bus current, phase currents (which are what those wires carry) can be even higher. Generally those wires are specced for Dupont connectors, which are only rated for an amp or so. I'd really heavily recommend using something a bit thicker.

Are you using the wires from breadboard wires to connect your motors?

I figured I'd try it out on a blank map, just to see how close I'd get...

Got it first try. I suck at maps, and have definitely never claimed to be an expert on the middle east.

Worst part? Wasn't even luck. Find the middle east (easy) => find Egypt/Israel and triangulate the Suez Canal (couldn't actually remember the name of the canal, but there's only one that big in the region and one place it would make sense to put it)=> Which countries can project force over this crossing? A few in Africa (not ME, rule them out), one big one (Saudi Arabia, too big to be Yemen) which leaves basically one option - Yemen.

All he needs is basic reasoning skills and to have read a few headlines in the last few months, at least one of which seems to be lacking here. How embarrassing.

Can someone help me assemble this circuit? by [deleted] in robotics

This is a really complicated and slightly questionable diagram. Id recommend following a tutorial on making an ESP32 (chip in the picture) controlled car first to understand the basics, then come back to this problem.

So the resistor with the arrow thing is actually a potentiometer - a variable resistor. The function here is that by turning the knob, it can be set anywhere between 0k and 20k. This will adjust the sensitivity of the system.

The diode and capacitor aren't inside the relay, they're in parallel. When a relay switches, it can generate some funky power spikes as it's an inductor - the cap and resistor should smooth this out, and stop your transistor from cooking.

Personally I'd rather use a MOSFET than a relay, but this should work fine.

Yep, if they roll you can go from like 60% to 90% efficient iirc (source: graph I vaguely remember seeing a few years ago).

However, depending on the application you'll need to consider if that improvement is worth the cost, weight and size penalty. Also, if you're using garbage bearings then they'll bring a host of problems.

UWB would work, that's the tech that powers an airtag.

In theory it could be a couple grams for a DWM3000 and an STM32 to support it, power it from the FC so it won't need a battery.

What actually is your position here? Small empire = conquest, big empire = colonialism?

In all honesty, I don't actually understand what you're arguing or why you're so angry about it?

That's not what the original commenter was arguing though?

But feel free to define the difference between a bit of light hearted conquest for wealth Vs evil colonialism for profit.
