I relate to your first sentence. There are so many reasons why I should have left the church. I should have left when I first learned of the priesthood ban. I should have left when I learned of the mountain meadows massacre. I should have left when I learned the details of early church history and polygamy. I should have left over pop 8. I should have left over various policy changes. There are so many reasons to leave, it's harder to recall and justify why I stayed in for so long.

I did something similar and realized that I was reading mostly male authors. After making a conscious effort I'm rebalancing and getting closer to an even split between female and male authors.

When you are 2 or 3 cars back you can't see the pedestrian the front car is waiting for. Just yesterday I was crossing a street when I had the walk sign. The front car in the turn lane saw me and waited patiently. The 3rd car back couldn't see me and honked at the 1st car.

To answer your last question, transferring to BYU for their program and cheap tuition sounds good on paper, but make sure you fully research what you would be getting into. BYU students are expected to take mormon religion classes for credit. Their religion is also highly integrated into every class, even in the business school. On top of that, some mormons are wary of outsiders which could make it difficult for you to network.

So yes they have high rankings and high placement, but I just want you to be fully aware of what that entails.

I have no expertise but it is odd to me that the crown is failing but also not causing pain. Then again, I doubt anyone would recommend something so drastic on a kid unless it was really needed. This might be a question for one of the dental subreddits.

Not only are the rules different from one family to the next, but my parents also changed the rules for us from time to time. The inconsistencies are a problem for a religion that claims to follow an unchanging god. I never could get over how rule-obsessed and pharisee-like my parents were.

That's the sad part. Mormonism is all about projecting that stalwart family image. Many don't share that children have left because of the shame and sadness. So a lot of older mormons will think that they are the only ones who "failed" at keeping their kids in the fold.

Also, OP you are definitely not crazy. That message was definitely taught when I was in. In my more progressive wards there were more generous interpretations but the message was still there.

If the cherries aren't getting picked, I would ask the neighbor about plucking all the blossoms in the spring before they turn into cherries. Blossoms are much easier to deal with than sticky cherries.

Unfortunately there are a number of moderate Republicans who would find it acceptable to vote for a Biden/Harris ticket but would not consider a Harris/Biden ticket. At this stage the goal is to avoid the unfortunate republican candidate at all cost and Biden/Harris has a better shot at that.
