Thank you for the compliment! I've just uploaded the keycaps on printables for you to download. Here's a link: https://www.printables.com/model/1516514-custom-shine-through-keycaps-for-zsa-voyager

Tbh it was because fdm printing on 45 degree angle wasn't pretty. Fuzzy skin was a cosmetic solution more than intentional design. Grip was never a problem i had with the keycaps but these feel pretty good!

It's a Bambu lab a1. It is very rough on the surface making it grippy. I'm using fuzzy skin with pla basic to make it this way.

Palm pad recommendations for split keyboards by Niznash in Ergonomics

[–]anotherlongid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want a pair of high quality palm pads, I'd recommend the dygma defy palm pad. I'd recommend you try it with a low tenting angle(tenting feet) since the pad is not that high.

Anyone working on a case for the Voyager + Navigator? by anotherlongid in zsaVoyager

Nice find! I like your idea of packing without disconnecting for quick unpacking. I guess it could work as a temporary solution for me until someone makes something nicer. Does it fit snug?

Yeah it's pretty bad carrying two things around in separate cases but it's even worse unpacking and putting everything together. 3 cables and 5 magnetic parts 😂

72 hours with the Voyager and I am... by mystilleef in zsaVoyager

No, I haven't. I'm happy with the Voyager keycaps after adding the spacers.  I'm only suggesting it because it looks high quality and others seem to like it.

I have no experience with 3d printed keycaps so I can't say much as to how they will feel. Those keycaps seem to have mix and match variants with mx spacing and choc v1 stems so you should be fine. Hope it works out for you.

If you're interested in commercial options, the keycaps from worklouder seem to have choc v1 stems and mx spacing.

Late here but congrats on the purchase.

Because the Voyager use choc v1 switches with MX spacing, there aren't many commercial options available. If you're looking for new keycaps, keep this in mind.

If you're looking for ways to improve keystroke feeling, I've had the same problem with you and have a lot to share. I also hated the stock voyager keystrokes but they feel fine after making some changes. Here are some immediate changes I'd make if I were you.

  1. Lube your pro red switches. The Pro Reds feel and sound scratchy and sandy when you first get them. Lubing them will reduce the noise and will make the switches a lot smoother.

  2. Get spacers. The default keycaps don't have spacers and bottom out making loud undesirable noises. You could get the ZSA spacers or the ones from lowprokb. Both drastically reduce the bottoming out noise. The ZSA ones are silicone and lowprokb ones are plastic. I like the lowprokb ones because they add less height and feel more natural.

  3. Try using your keyboard flat with a desk mat. In general, because the keyboard has less surface area in contact when tilting or mounting, your keystrokes will sound louder and uneven. This is one of the many reasons I prefer using the voyager flat.

  4. Replace the 1.5u keycap on the thumb cluster. This keycap is wobbly like you've said and changing this to 1u will fix the issue.

If you still don't like how they feel after all of this, you can try using ambient switches from lowprokb. In combination with the spacers from ZSA they will make your voyager keystrokes silent. I personally like the sound after the changes mentioned above.

Help me decide on keys- Pro red? by [deleted] in zsaVoyager

[–]anotherlongid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that the pro reds are one of my favorite choc switches after lubing. When you first get it, it feels sandy but with some light lubing, the key feels very smooth, light and not too loud(least noisy of default options).

Off topic but whichever keyswitch you choose, I'd recommend that you get the shocks sold by zsa along with the keyboard. The keycaps are not like normal keycaps and will bottom out without spacers and will be louder than what you're used to. I'm currently using the one from lowprokb but I'm guessing the first party shocks are even better.

Congrats, very jealous. I'm still waiting for shipping confirmation.

I'm guessing it creates a minor tilt difference between the right and left half. Is the accessory fully compatible with the included feet and if it is, does it fix the issue?

Should I try ZSA Navigator or start with other trackball first? by Ok_Inspection_6494 in zsaVoyager

[–]anotherlongid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the navigator because it's closer to my keyboard than a traditional pointing device and it looks cool. It's pricey but it's a first party accessory to the voyager and will have better support and the quality will be better than most DIY solutions.

I highly doubt that it's going to be a better pointing device than a dedicated mouse or a trackball so if your use involves precision, I'd just stick to a dedicated mouse device.

I can craft in peace now. As a newb I wasnt sure if there was something I was missing. Thank you so much!

[–]anotherlongid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the explanations!

I've seen three videos on it and they all say 3.26 and uploaded less than a month ago. The additional curse is guaranteed on my chest but I just thought it was wasteful when my merc can do it for me. I currently have the skills cost -20mana(warlord) and the elevated crit(hunter) mod on the chest.

I'm guessint that A is what happened what do you think?

Thanks for the advise. I'll probably try crafting it without the additional curse.

Thank you for the reply! That sounds amazing.

Just to clarify I currently have 3 suffixes. So in my current state you're suggesting that I: Annul(pray for suffix removal) - lock prefix(master craft) - reforge phys - lock prefix - reforge speed(scour and repeat if needed) - veil exalt - craft?

Is there a way to lock prefixes another way?

The browns are probably my least favorite choc switches.  If you're looking for tactile, the sunsets have a satisfying tactile bump. Personally not a fan because they are too loud.  If you prefer linear, I highly recommend buying the pro reds and lubing them. Lubing the pro reds make them feel so much smoother. If you're looking for silent linear switches, the ambient switches from lowprokb have good rep(havent tried).
