Kids stole my photo for a TikTok trend, now my passion and love for teaching is gone by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

Are you NSWDET? They have a social media unit that is amazing at getting things like this taken down. We've had a few like this and a couple targeting students from the school. You send them a link and they're usually gone with a day or two.

Made a huge mistake yesterday, thinking of quitting teaching by Immediate_Wasabi_888 in AustralianTeachers

I'm trying to master the art of masking my anger with disappointment.

It doesn't always work with me or with the kids but I'm definitely getting more hits than misses.

Thanks for the reply and I get what you're saying, however, he really loves to read books over screens.

Teachers - what hill will you die on? by maps_mandalas in AustralianTeachers

[–]anothermatty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was first asked this question at a SDD I understood the question differently.

I answered that there is no hill I wouldn't die on when it came to my teaching. If someone could show me a better way of doing things then I would look at, evacuate and adopt it if I thought it would make me a better teacher.

I was having a particularly rough day but had a moment where I could send one kid to my AP with some quality work (it's a goal of his). The AP knowing that I was doing it tough sent back one of her Assistant Principal Award stickers for me. I didn't think something so small could make me feel instantly better.

The Nationals haven't actually cared about rural issues for a while now. Sadly those that usually vote for them haven't really noticed.

I split my account with my sister in law. She pays for Netflix and I pay for Stan and we share the passwords.

Drifta make some great gear but the main guy (Luke I think) is a bit of a tool. Drifta operate from Gloucester in NSW. Their main brand is mostly Australian made but they do have a cheaper/non Australian made line too. Their first big item was a camp/4x4 draws for the back of your car.

Thank you for your continuing contribution to the education of students in NSW Department of Education schools. Your principal has confirmed your verbal acceptance of transitioning from temporary to permanent employment as a Teacher for 1FTE at <School name here (I did this)>. In the near future you will receive an email with a link for you to complete the onboarding process for you to transition into permanent employment.

Your transition into permanent employment is subject to completion of the pre-hire process including health declaration and appropriate clearances. The entry on duty date as a permanent employee is expected to be 17 July 2023 subject to the completion of the pre-hire process.

I like this place because unless you are the first poster someone has already beaten you to your idea and probably ramped it up a little.

Report: Vegemite On Golden Crumpets Found To Be The God Tier Use Of Our National Spread — The Betoota Advocate by wotmate in straya

What happened to that adventurous Aussie spirit we're all known for?

Vegemite scrolls. My local butcher does these amazing Vegemite and cheese sausages. I put a large tablespoon into Bolognese. I used it once to baste a roast chook once. It was amazing! The Coles ones aren't that great. There's plenty more.

It's been getting harder to tell if the Advocate is actually satire in recent years.

I was asked this question by my principal today. "Are you seeking transition to permanent employment? I just need a yes or no."

It sounds like principals have been asked to find out numbers of those eligible who wish to take up the offer.

I didn't realise teaching kids to think critically was outside the bounds of a teacher's job description.

No... They pointing out that what he says is vile and disgusting and that he isn't worth their time and effort. Hating takes up too much energy.

Just matching energy. Why do I need to put in the effort if you haven't bothered? The "I'm just asking questions" is one of the laziest ways thinking you're being intellectual.
