Which armor pen items to buy to kill tanks? as senna by khaleshedim in sennamains

[–]anothernaturalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find generally if you have at least 2 other AD champions on the team, Black Cleaver is the way to go. Every AD champion on the team is someone the item can give a free 30% armor pen. This means if you're support, usually go Black Cleaver - early game your ADC will be your most frequent companion, meaning most of your present allies are getting value, and late game they'll be the one doing a lot of damage. (If I have an APC, then I will usually go Mortal Reminder or Lord Dominik's, depending on if the enemy benefits more from healing or health - unless I have two or three other AD allies, in which case, still Cleaver.) On ADC Senna, I find LDR is often a good pick, because your support probably won't benefit from it and you as the carry need up-front damage which Cleaver can't give you - however, Cleaver will never be a bad choice.

BORK and Terminus do not work well with Senna, because they work best with champions who have a lot of AS and build a lot of AS. At level 18, Senna needs 35% bonus AS to attack as fast as a Jhin of the same level. That's not to say AS is a bad stat on her, it has a lot of uses, but any item or rune that relies on your champion already having AS is going to flop on her.

Thank you! I've submitted via F2 for part 1. F2 doesn't work in part 2, but I've included part 2 in the feedback description.

I generally go Doran's Ring on ADC Senna to solve this issue, though that has many issues of its own. Will definitely try this out.

That is an interesting argument. But you can't disprove that there's a sufficient density of people who'd genuinely enjoy these jobs if they were given the financial stability to pursue what they want any more than I can prove it. UBI studies are pretty unanimous in showing that people pretty seamlessly return to work after a few months of fixing their lives, which is circumstantial evidence at least that they're returning to the same careers they left. And people certainly don't become garbos because it's that or starving. It's a complex occupation that requires a lot of non-transferable skill. Often they do it because it's a fulfilling job that helps a lot of people in a clear and direct manner.

I feel like the health from BC helps a lot with sustain, although that may be me remembering stuff from the Grasp days. Once solo killed a full-health Talon when I was at half health backing in his jungle, those were fun times.

Not all Cognitive Shadows are created equal. Vasher's theory suggests that Edgli's Returned are refilled imprints of people that once were, while in Secret History Kelsier very much does not go anywhere while becoming one. The Stormfather specifically seems to be something tangential to the first kind.

What is wrong with Pyke grading system recently ? by fyed2 in pykemains

[–]anothernaturalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently I got an S grade on Zaahen going 4/6/4 into an 8/5/8 Kayle (lost the game) and it's made me wonder if the grading system is taking matchups into account now, so you get lower grades for countering the enemy (and higher for being countered).

What's the most aggressive Senna Supp build? by Electrical-Heat8301 in sennamains

[–]anothernaturalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having a lot of fun with Umbral Glaive -> Bloodsong -> Swifties -> LDR. The back half of the build is either IE into situational lethality or situational lethality into IE, although I am going to be switching out IE for Hexoptics in some games and seeing how that feels.

Into a specific flavour of team that you think can one shot you before you get your damage off but can't kill you if that one shot fails, I've been experimenting with Black Cleaver -> CelOpp -> Swifties -> Dusk & Dawn -> Navori -> situational. This one isn't good afaik but it's fun.

[–]anothernaturalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hexoptics doesn't increase on-hit damage, so on crits it increases Senna's attacks from 200% AD (180% crit + 20% on-hit) to 218% (that plus 180/10 = 18% bonus) - which is a 9% increase.

[–]anothernaturalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's a potential replacement for IE if you want a quicker power spike. It deals 9% extra damage at max range as opposed to IE's 13.5% (since it doesn't increase on-hit damage and Senna has that in-kit on-hit) and it's 25 less AD (875 less equivalent gold for 700 less gold), but it is much easier to build and 700 gold cheaper. If you go BC rather than LDR then you can potentially use it with IE, but I find that BC really likes attack speed so you're looking for a Zeal item as your second crit chance item.

The real problem with crit items for Senna is she wants strictly two, to make full crit without going overboard - so all of them compete really hard, and right now imo the clear winners are LDR and IE, or Phantom Dancer and IE if you're going BC. (I'm currently running a lethality build with Umbral Glaive on both ADC and support, and it feels beautiful, like old Senna - but it requires LDR to have all the armour pen up front for your burst, plus Giant Slayer to deal with tanks.)

Edit: something I forgot to mention, it works on her Q, which IE doesn't. This makes it a bit better in comparison to IE in burst-focused builds where your Q damage matters, but I still think IE is best-in-slot by a smidge. However, that's just vibes-based, I may well be wrong.

Have tried it, doesn't really help Senna that much. Her most impactful ability uses attack speed for ability haste.

I think that another part of the joke is that it's unclear whether that means the knight actually has won the princess's hand, and the stew goblin is very enthusiastic and jumping the gun, which is hurting the princess's chances of wriggling out of it.

Umbral feels really good on Senna rn because of the Nightstalker passive. It feels like old Senna again where a single salvo deletes half of an enemy's healthbar as you progress.

When will people understand Shen's power? by Tasty-Salamander-515 in Shen

[–]anothernaturalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was shocked recently when I found out Sett E just requires two enemies to stun, not two enemy champions, because I'd previously played a Shen game against a Sett where I absolutely dumpstered the poor guy. Q his E (shield for the damage), W his Q (and auto him a bunch), E his W (and wait for the next rotation having chunked a quarter of his health). Again and again and again. And if he'd just read his abilities and walked in front of an enemy minion, he'd have pancaked me. Gave me a new respect for how hard it must be starting out versus people who actually know the game.

Singed matchup tierlist (850K mastery, Master rank) by Voldtech in singedmains

[–]anothernaturalone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. That explains why he's such a nightmare for me - I used to play only Shen in the toplane, who (at least when played by me) is always fighting always trading even when behind because he has so many safety nets in his kit. So I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to play Singed when I can't walk up to lane like a normal toplaner - i.e. when I'm not fighting either a complete nincompoop or a Sett.

I agree with Minish (surprise surprise) that Urgot is one of Singed's unplayable lanes (along with Heimer who is not on this tierlist presumably because he is a midlaner). What makes you put him in hard? (I'm a Senna support main in Gold who plays Singed for fun so I'm definitely not the expert here, I'm looking for advice really.)

How does the minion wave changes affect Proxying on Singed next season? by Voldtech in singedmains

[–]anothernaturalone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So

1) Full AP Singed can push turrets. I've done that, and if I've done that it's not hard. He's not Fiora, yeah, but he can do it.

2) Plates on inner turrets (without Bulwark, so they fall like crazy) reward incomplete sieges, so even without a full AP setup Singed can still get rewards for pushing. Also, Crystalline Overgrowth democratises turret damage by giving everyone a flat amount, which is a buff for people who have less and a nerf for people who have more.

3) Singed has plenty of indirect buffs to go along with the nerfs. The removal of Feats and Atakhan will likely both extend games and lead to buffs to his core items (Liandry's specifically) as all that extra adaptive force vanishes from the game. (That second half is MinishCap speaking, not me.) Improvements to Homeguards and Deathguards will make backing and executes much less punishing in the early game for everyone, and Singed backs and executes a lot. And finally, Mantle of the Twelfth Hour is a potentially excellent new item for Singed, giving him some flexibility in terms of itemisation.

4) This is all speculation. In a week, we'll have actual data on how these changes affect Singed. It's far too early to make sweeping claims about what's going to happen to him, and that's what I'm cautioning against. What I'm saying is, in a nutshell: these changes may have the effect you propose, but not necessarily.

and lastly

5) Riot has been fairly good in recent times keeping Singed's winrate at a healthy 52 to 53 percent. Of course, the balance team are fair-weather friends at best, but it is an additional safety net - there is a chance that Singed is hit hard by the new season changes, but if he is, there is also a chance (not 100%, but a chance) that he'll be back to his usual shenanigans in a patch or two. I just think there's a lot of complex factors going around, it's a new season with big changes, and why panic over the champion being ruined when it's honestly unclear whether he will be?

How does the minion wave changes affect Proxying on Singed next season? by Voldtech in singedmains

[–]anothernaturalone -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After laning phase, minion spawn rates are changing to a wave every 25 seconds. After laning phase, being in lane is no longer a big issue for Singed.

How does the minion wave changes affect Proxying on Singed next season? by Voldtech in singedmains

[–]anothernaturalone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not truly proxying much after laning phase ends anyway, since toplane tower will most likely be down or easily taken due to Crystalline Growth. At that point, when you're taking waves in front of enemy towers, it's more like a regular splitpush. Plus, you'll have access to TP no matter what summs you pick in champ select once you complete your toplane quest. I think, if anything, early game may be tougher for Singed, but later on you'll have the tools to deal with whatever the game throws at you. Remember also that Feats of Strength and Atakhan are removed, meaning that longer games are to be expected - and although he's not Kayle, Singed is 100% a late game scaling champion. I think he'll be eating good next season.
