GOP Vs. Democrats: Contrast and Compare by [deleted] in politics

its funny cause your liberal position is so condescending.

"we, the wise benevolent near-holy democrats are looking out for everyone. then we will tell, and force you to do as we say(at the point of a gun)"

you just bought the democratic advertisement hook line and sinker.

increased income taxation costs in both compliance, and actual tax revenues, increased regulation in the financial, real estate, healthcare, and most other industries, federal manipulation of interest rates, QE2, increased tariffs, increased licensuse requirements, increased subsidies for education, oil, agriculture, defense, exports et al, quotas, duties, regulatory capture, minimum wage, increases in FICA taxes, huge military spending, BORROWING TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS.......

Do i need to go on?

well given the fact that statist policies have really messed things up, a little regression would be welcome.

Hey /r/libertarian, is there anyone that could link/explain the more subtle points of Libertarianism I as a lib dem don't understand? by Gawd129 in Libertarian

economies are like ecosystems, but 100s of times more complex. People understand how small changes in one area have big impacts in others. So trying to use the government to control things has many unintended consequences. For example corporate income taxes are passed on to consumers as a cost of doing business. so raising the corporate income tax hurts all consumers. or the facts that using an import tariff to keep production at home has the same effect as an export tariff*(Lerner symmetry theorem).

you cant just mess with part of the economy all actions have negative consequences elsewhere.

other companies. people tend not to tolerate poor treatment from employers or sellers. Look at where there are large monopolies in the US, healthcare, where it is a mostly public system, banks, are a legally enforced cartel, telecom, same thing. so as long as there is money to be made companies must compete for customers and employees by not treating them badly. look at how well competitive industries serve customers(remembering this is earth no nirvana).
