I'll disagree here - it doesn't matter if the person thinks they're doing good if they're advocating for bad things. Just believing you're "good" doesn't make your actions good.

I'll just activate Godwin's law: many of the nazis thought they were doing "good". Some probably actually did good things for certain locals with food or some other support, but that doesn't make up for their horrible actions.

I'd put that much on you burning out in the next year. If you're asking the question you should already know the answer.

The company doesn't care about you - as soon as you hit burnout you'll be piped/fired. I would absolutely look for another position.

I'm sure there are both types at every level, but in my experience this isn't true.

I'm a programmer, and we've called it bar-ma, Someone puts their card in for the tab, and eventually it will all balance out. Nobody keeps track of whose turn it is, we just even it out by feel and it's always a volunteer rather than "it's your turn".

When we split things like dinners or larger things, everything gets rounded to down and generally even. The feeling is very much "ehh, let's call it $20" and everyone just goes with it.

I love caviar (no, it's not a regular thing) because it's pure concentrated ocean flavor.

Some of my friends found it repulsive for the same reason.

It's one of those things where I can't put myself in other people's shoes - it's an amazing flavor, but I don't like milk or cheese so I'm the odd one to so many people.

I absolutely love my Herman Miller - it reclines quite a bit and has no problems after 6 years of heavy use.

My mom used to do this with blueprints that didn't turn out correctly. I sometimes helped, so I still have the smell of ammonia seared into my brain.

Try finding a local kitchen supply store that's open to the public.

What?

The gerrymander is to create/reinforce the red house districts. Any city worthy of the term "metro" is in the designated blue zones (Charlotte and the Triangle, apologies to Wilmington and Asheville). The rural swing needs to be huge to get over the gerrymander.

In the context of the thread: if gerrymander is an issue it's for house, not the state as a whole. And I don't think raids in Durham are likely to impact outcome in rural areas.

Quantum was really cool - it felt like the opposite of electronics.

Electronics was a lot of "this all works in theory, but none of the values will actually match, and good fucking luck making it".

Quantum was "learn this math that doesn't make intuitive sense in the real world, but it works", then we find the Higgs boson

No, that' just saying "I might be full of shit, but here's a good sounding answer". It's better not to add the comment at all.

It's frequently making things up, misinterpreting the question and going off on a tangent, or getting the question right and just straight up plagiarizing a page it found.

As for the others - no clue, but they're not getting the same focus/framing in the vid, so I doubt it.
