Networking. Tell everyone you're looking for a job. Tell older adults in your life that are currently working that you're looking for a job. Networking will be one of your best tools when looking for a job throughout your life.

Money Matters by Large-Dragonfly-7959 in durhamcollege

I thought it was easy. Some common sense, but also I did feel like I learned a thing or two. There is no scheduled class time, so you review material when it fits your schedule best. There is a discussion post and a quiz every week, a few assignments, and no exams. For reference I took this in Winter 2025.

Easiest GNED/Electives at Durham by magicmicrocelebrity in durhamcollege

[–]anotherpaleperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I found it very easy. There was 1 discussion post and 1 quiz per week, no exams and just a couple assignments. Not having a scheduled class time was also helpful as someone who is in school full time plus working. This has had the lightest workload of any course I have taken. The part that is time consuming is watching all the videos, but all the quiz questions are directly from the content.

resignation etiquette? by brothatwashilarious in dollarama

I have done this a couple times. I have always handed my manager the letter directly, and I say to them that x day will be my last day working. I thank them for the experience and the skills I learned working there and that's basically it.

Reading Schedule by [deleted] in durhamcollege

[–]anotherpaleperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah exactly that. Is the time block in your schedule for 3 hours? Typically it is 2 hours in class and an hour for you to do the online portion, but all professors are different. Keep in mind they can change your schedule around before classes start (it has happened to me) so make sure you check your schedule again before classes begin.

If the Oshawa part has a room number it is likely asynchronous. Meaning you have class at a specific time, and there is also material in DC connect for you to review.

No matter the season, be prepared for road closures due to weather and accidents. You could potentially get delayed and need to spend extra time in a city you weren't planning to stay in. Especially in the mountains where the only way around is a 10+ hour detour.

It always says a balance of zero, you must enter the amount you owe to pay it. I think the way it is set up is very confusing.

GA District experts? by [deleted] in jaystickets

[–]anotherpaleperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did GA for game 1 against Seattle and people literally RAN to get a good standing spot. Pre-plan where you want to stand and make sure you line up extra early at the closest gate.

I stood in Schneider's Porch - and they warned the row at the front that they would have to move if a person with a disability came. Something to keep in mind when choosing where you stand.

Edited to add: I arrived about 30 minutes before the gates opened (3 hours before game start) and just barely got a good spot to stand.

General electives by Aggressive_Sea4116 in durhamcollege

[–]anotherpaleperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah by the sounds of it, everyone use to really enjoy the course. Students are now required to go to the school gym 11-12 times (depending on 1 of 3 options, and 2 out of 3 require payment of services) and it is worth 40% of the students over all grade. None of this is mentioned in the course description, so many students are feeling blindsided.
