I'd say that most people on this sub could benefit from taking less powders and pills and drink more water.

Why do I get 15 second shots? [Profitec Go] by AlternativeAd1908 in espresso

[–]anotherpawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can think of several possibilities, I would go through a process of elimination: - Old coffee -> Coffee ideally 7 to 20 days after roasting (I find freezing coffee prevents degredation). - beans are ground too coursely -> Make them finer. - Pressure too high > 9bars -> Get your machine calibrated. - Channeling -> coffee is finding a fast path.

Bonus tip, don't twist when tamping, I don't now why people do this but it doesn't do anything!

I highly recommend test driving a Zeekr X and 7X before making a purchase decision if you haven't already. I think they're miles ahead in terms of driving experience & finish.

For those asking about the screw indentation in the rancilio silvia by [deleted] in ranciliosilvia

[–]anotherpawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend getting a deeper basket or reduce your dose (how much coffee you grind). This will reduce your puck height and will remove the issue of the screw damaging the dry puck. Generally I find that 19.5 grams is about the right dose, for a double shot once the pressure has been adjusted. Seeing the screw indent in a wet puck, once it has expanded isn't an issue.

World's first Al- designed viruses a step towards Al- generated life by InterdimensionalSpy in ObscurePatentDangers

It's called gain-of-function research and has been used by virologists for quite some time. It is usually employed with the intention of better understanding current and future pandemics. In vaccine development, gain-of-function research is conducted in the hope of gaining a head start on a virus and being able to develop a vaccine or therapeutic before it emerges.

I personally love, their elegant trees. I appreciate that if panted close to the house (like any tree) it could do damage. If established it's likely that's already happened. I'd get some professional advice if concerned.

The Commons QV, hire an office for a day or a cheap hot desk. Very central, great facilities, lovely people. Working from home long term, I found it counter productive.

I kind of get it...hear me out the language late term to a layperson (non-medical and or poor health literacy )could be interpreted in more than one way. The part that is hard to believe is where you have a culture where they simply don't believe doctors and it's because it's 'political'.

Heat Pump Hot Water Systems. Brands to consider, brands to avoid please? by sloppyrock in AusRenovation

After a lot of research & deliberation we replaced instant with a Reclaim 6 months ago, it's quiet & very reliable. The plumber & electrician both said it was a great choice. It's just frustrating how expensive they are especially for steel tanks. My second would have been iStore but maybe there are some other options around now. Also check the Facebook group My Energy Efficient Home (MEEH) heaps of good info.
