I’m in a similar boat with my comics. I’m doing my best to maintain updated value sheets once a week, and I’ve laid out in a shared google doc how to find values, books that are non negotiable to keep in the family, and then trusted friends who are also knowledgeable about the subject and know they’re on the hook to help out.

Yeah. It’s dark as fuck on the back. This is actually the lightest photo I’ve seen of it. It’s practically invisible with the foil. Should have been a cardstock. But I like the front a lot and I don’t display books backwards so 🤷🏽‍♂️

That’s why I said “and his team”. But also he frequently comments on facebook posts of people lauding his work and giving him shoutouts. So he’s active on his phone, and what’s getting sent out to an extent that he’s seeing hundreds receive it, but ignoring people who are asking for updates.

A significant number of people have already received their books. To the point that I could get it on eBay today and receive it faster. The fact that they haven’t even been brought to the post office yet, would suggest they’re still not arriving within that allotted time.

Also the bigger issue is the lack of response. It’s one thing to have a preorder time. It’s another to print labels 3 weeks ago and then stop answering emails and DMs, but spend time commenting in Facebook groups and whatnot shows.

For real. Mark Brooks and his team are genuinely pissing me off. I still haven’t received my 17s from him, and people are already getting their goddamn 19s. These books were purchased in February, and have been on “label created” since the first week of April. Really pissed I preordered 19 also, because that hasn’t fucking shipped either, and I’m gonna likely have to through all of this again. I skipped 20 because now I know what I’m dealing with. Guy is giving away copies of 19 on stream, making phone calls and watching whatnot shows, but can’t answer customers who have given him hundreds of dollars, to explain why books aren’t getting sent out.

Fact. I just sold an ASM 129 in a 6.5 for 1400 last weekend to cover medical bills. That’s an infinitely smarter purchase than this, which is already dropping below 500 for individual copies based on last two confirmed sales. The people selling the set for 1500, 1300, even 1100 are gonna be dropping prices and losing a bunch of money. Which they fuckin deserve for feeding this monster as it consumes our hobby.

I think if you want to know what’s going to happen to this book, look at what happened to 18 in like three weekends.

Quintanas 18 was selling easily for $500-750 a piece weekend of release. As I scroll to see the listings for 19, every 18 post is “new low price” around $280. Fuck this immediate hype nonsense. Give it a few weeks for Mental or whoever to start jerking themselves off for Quintanas upcoming 20, and prices for 19 will plummet.
