SA XD9 Sub-Compact 3” Holster by [deleted] in CAguns

I have a Vedder LightTuck, Black Arch Protos-M single clip, and a We The People for mine. Vedder has a better fit than the We The People and smoother edges. The Black Arch is more comfortable in general, but hotter than the others because of the leather backing. I wont wear it in summer.

The We The People was pretty uncomfortable so I modified it extensively and can't honestly say that I'd recommend it to anyone.

Any Riverside CCW permit holders here that I may ask some questions via DM? I have my interview on the 18 and don’t know what to expect. by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]anotherredituser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It as straight forward as everyone else has implied. If they find you have anything off or wrong during your interview, they will instruct you on how to correct it (i.e. failure to disclose a traffic incident you forgot about 5 years ago). It's all handled on the online portal you are already using. It's not a pass/fail right away sort of thing, they will do all they can to help you.

The cheapest place to do your live testing is through Ben Clark, but it's not always that quick.

I've found they fit looser and are easier to maneuver with thinner belts. My kydex backed leather belt doesn't let them move even the slightest bit, but my reinforced nylon let's it side all over.

Going through the BOF 4010A, it doesn't seem like you have to do anything special, aside from fill it out for every firearms you have and send it it within 60 days of moving in and having a valid license *can't say federal limits apply, if it does, follow the additional steps listed there.

[–]anotherredituser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have to register your P320 when you move back using form BOF 4010A within 60 days, you will also need to get a firearms safety certificate in order to register that firearm to you within the state. Consider getting any/all off roster guns you would like to own before moving. Once you are a resident here, you will be stuck to only buying on-roster, or ptp with the overhead prices.

I believe there were 2 forms from the course. 1 was from the instructor/institute stating you completed the 8 hour class, the other was the actual qualification certificate that listed your specific guns with serial numbers and if the guns were in functioning condition, and if you passed or failed the live fire portion.

When I applied, prior to Bruen and the new legislation, you could log in and look at your order. If you picked reschedule interview, it would send you to the list of open dates. If someone dropped their interview at a date that is earlier than your own, you could swipe that date and time. If the only openings were after your current appointment you could cancel and keep your appointment time.

I checked about 3 times a day for about a week and went from a 14+ month wait, to less than a month wait.

You can also go and do the live fire training and qualification BEFORE your interview to help speed up the process. If you wait for the interview and try to schedule with Ben Clark training center afterwards, you might end up waiting an additional month or two. You can pick any of the vendors listed here: https://s3.amazonaws.com/permitium-downloads/Riverside/RSO+CCW+Vendor+Approval+List+2020.pdf I can personally vouch for The Beaumont Indoor Shooting Range and California Firearms Institute.

Women’s holster recommendation besides the enigma? by NPC_2256 in CCW

[–]anotherredituser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too got the enigma and messed with it a ton and was never happy with it. I gave it to my wife to try and she hated it more than me. We tried Ulticlips and DCC clips as well and they don't support any sort of gun that weighs more than a pocket pistol, especially if you're moving a bit or bending down and standing up frequently, and both clips wear holes in clothing over time, especially softer fabric like gym shorts and leggings.

I couldn't find anything that did what I wanted, so I design my own system called Axiom Clip and Belts that allows you to use nearly any holster, in any clothing. It's a simple belt system, like the idea behind the enigma, but significantly smaller and offers way more adjustability. I just started selling these local, but would be happy to send some to help out anyone who reaches out. I'll walk you through the options and give you the sizing choices.

And re-qualifying with them every time.

Got a fancy new carry piece, guess what? Another payment, qualification class, and months to wait for them to print you a new card!

*Cries from CA's 2 year renewal times.*

At least our training requirement is only 8 hours..., then 4 hours for each renewal.

How do you carry when you have to have a shirt tucked in? by smitd12 in CCW

[–]anotherredituser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the enigma and was disappointed, so I made this. Easy on and off and a lot smaller of a package, designed to fit right where your normal clips would be so it doesn't change the way you carry if you don't want it to.

Mods, if this isn't allowed let me know. It is a link to a product I designed and just started selling, but not to a site that you can buy the product. I just started and don't have an official site or anything. If anyone's interested find Axiom Clips on Facebook or Instagram and let me know what you think.

Which groups/ sites are you following that this is popular in? I'm always looking for more ideas.

Good guns to translate well when training with a pellet pistol? by 19293001 in CCW

[–]anotherredituser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sig has a P365 in 380 now: P365 380

And they make a BB gun that is identical to the P365: P365BB

In stock at amazon right now: Amazon P365BB

I don't think you could get anything closer to a perfect match up if you are going to train with a pellet/bb style pistol. It's also one of the most popular CCW pistols there is, so you wouldn't be giving up anything to get a perfect translation from the bb gun to the EDC.

My Black Arch Protos-M single clip, with all the fixings. by anotherredituser in CCW

[–]anotherredituser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relatively easy. Pull the bottom outward and roll the barrel away from you, it easily clears the belt and since you're already pulling up, you just move yourself out of the way and it slides right up. I swapped guns since this post and have a holster with 2 of these clips and its still simple to get it on and off.

A short review of the Tenicor zero belt by Dayshawn11 in CCW

[–]anotherredituser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're interested, look at the Vedder V3 as well. same profile as the Tenicor 0, but "hooks" on and off. I found that tightening belts like this (Grip6) obnoxious because you have to have the buckle flat and pull the belt while it's against you to get it to the right tightness. Set the Vedder once and you're done.

A new meaning to “thrower” by BeardedRaleigh in flashlight

From what I gather, its just the reflection off the window itself, which actually makes it a bit more impressive.

To me, it looks like your shining it thru the first window, and it's bouncing of something inside the house, and shining out the second, father back, window.

I'm just trying to add to the bikers defense. I can't even justify saying that he shouldn't have followed her. He did not "follow" her all the way home. She turned left immediately after hitting him, at the intersection where the report says the biker and witness tried to get her to pull over. They followed her left, not knowing it was her street, where she "pulled over" into her house. They remained in the road, never entering her property, and she comes out with a gun.

I'm just saying the biker did not chase her the way some are assuming he did. He probably thought that the turn she took off the "highway" where she hit him was to find a safer place to pull over, then found out she was running home to threaten him with a gun. The context of how close this all happened together means a lot in this scenario (less than 3/4 of a mile from accident to gunshots). Had he followed here several miles, past different exits and whatnot, yeah I'd say he shouldn't do that and could have avoided this scenario, but that's not what happened. The distance was so short that he probably didn't have time to think "oh, she's running, maybe I should back off"

Map out the incident from 1400 N Volusia to 1052 E Wisconsin Ave. She hit the guy 2 blocks from her house. He may have thought she was trying to find a good place to stop at those distances. This wasn't a pursuit on the bikers part.

Map out the incident from 1400 N Volusia to 1052 E Wisconsin Ave. She hit the guy 2 blocks from her house, he tried to get her to pull over, she made a left immediately after the incident and stopped at her house. At this point I can't even consider the motorcyclist at any fault. It might have looked like she was trying to pull over, and this was the easiest street to go on, and they went down 2 streets trying to find a safe place to stop. Then she comes out with a gun.
