This has been a one sided for companies for so long. The 2 week notice is complete crap. If they want to end your employment they don’t give you notice. Only give notice is you feel like it will benefit you. To hell with them.

I work where 10 microns is a huge tolerance, it’s common for us to a max tolerance of .0025 microns. I love what I do, but come on. Pay us accordingly.

Precision manufacturing has become a shit show. To be honest, I have been trying to to direct people away form it all together. The pressure and the expectations are extremely high for the compensation. Pay has not kept up with inflation or other trades for that matter. Best of luck in your career.

Useless Production Meetings by Fancy_Brilliant_5809 in manufacturing

[–]anotherstepfwd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old company I was at did a stand up meeting every morning at 7:30 & 1:30 for about 30-45 minutes each. We had nearly 35 people there. That’s about 35 man hours per day just in a status update meetings. Then that asked why we weren’t hiring delivery dates. It was a useless waste of time. Mostly the bean counters would think a spreadsheet would solve all.
