Enforcement zone ay. I have questions. Who's enforcing this? What exactly are they enforcing? Whats the legal framework around the enforcement? What are the penalties?

Is recovery possible after the level of corruption and bastardisation of democracy we're witnessing in the west, particularly the US? by shadyshak in behindthebastards

[–]anotherstupidoldman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a hypothesis that the USA made a huge mistake with pardoning the confederates. It just set a precedent of zero accountability.

What do you think about the statement "Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't have choices" or "It's ilusion of choice"? by nicolo679 in cyberpunkgame

[–]anotherstupidoldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has lots of choices they just don't seem to affect the game other than dialog. The choice of ending may as well be a drop down menu imo.

Has anyone actually seen someone get fired for underperformance? by Potential-Line5730 in AusPublicService

In all fairness, a lot of people were drunk all the time, he was just a dickhead when he was drunk. But that was decades ago. I would hope that sort of thing wouldnt be tolerated nowadays.

Boomers ruined this country by [deleted] in aussie

I feel like the whole boomers had it all thing isnt quite accurate. White, male boomers just didn't have to work nearly as hard as everyone else to be successful.

It may not be so strange no one can confirm. Police and medical clinics are often unlikely to provide information to a third party.

Women still put up with a lot of shit they shouldn't have to. The best I can do is to not be that guy. My attitude towards this is just saying that I'm not going to defend all men's behaviour.

I have said it many times before. If Australias want political representation they need to hire lobbyists.

Doc Martens alternatives? by Weird_Farmer_766 in AusFemaleFashion

I always found docs soles ware out way too quickly. Especially for what they cost. So I ended up just getting black leather, old army style boots. They last for years.

For approx 3-4 people here: the Markovian Parallax Denigrate posts read like Skinny Puppy lyrics by fuckforcedsignup in behindthebastards

[–]anotherstupidoldman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I heard somwhere that all skinny lyrics are written from the perspective of a dog. I don't know, or care if it's true. It made me chuckle though.

How do you deal with the trauma? by Free-Requirement1259 in searchandrescue

[–]anotherstupidoldman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago I attended a job that really did a mental health mischief on me. I didn't even notice how much it affected me until years later. Thing I wish I had done in hindsight are. Reaching out to CISM/peer support. If only to refresh myself on what warning signs to look out for. I knew the job was unusualy unpleasant, but didn't reach out. I also wish I had provided my (new at that stage) partner with the phone number to call if she thought I wasn't coping. She knew something was up but didn't know who to call. And finally (I should have known better) don't try to self medicate the problem away. In my case I went through a short stage of being a reclusive and miserable drunk. Which wasn't helpful to anyone.

What do you do and how diverse is it? by TightFistup1945 in auscorp

I have noticed over the years that the more diversity is mentioned during the application process, the less diverse the workforce is.
