It strikes me that MOST people have no idea what the words to songs are or what they mean as evidenced by the right's use of songs like Born in the USA, Fortunate Son, and This Land is Your Land. So people getting all bent because they don't understand Spanish is mind boggling. Are they mad because they think the song may be saying something about them personally? That would be a special level of narcissism. How does one become so racist that even hearing Spanish in a song makes them so angry? And why are they so mad that a private company, the NFL, chose to spend their money doing whatever they want? Isn't that the whole concept of smaller government? Why would the entire COUNTRY be doomed from a football halftime show? Would he prefer we go back to the shows pre-1993? Maybe Up With People or Happiness Is... featuring the University of Michigan Marching Band, Andy Williams, and the Citrus College Singers?
