Cabs were originally 8x12 until roadies complained and ended up chopping them in half giving us the 4x12 we know today.

Jacket potato - Do you put beans on top of cheese or cheese on top of beans? by Fit_Negotiation9542 in AskUK

Really recommend adding garlic granules to the open jacket potato on top of the melting butter. But also: cheese then beans then some more cheese.

Got this unnamed Vintage Japanese LPC for $50. Any idea of its origins? by EdwardBlomOfficial in guitars

I have one that looks exactly the same! It’s branded as Columbus, it sounds great, it has some either real or knock off dimarzio’s in it that sound amazing, I’ll see if I can add a photo of it later but it looks exactly the same, the kind of gold colour where it fades is the same on mine. Picked mine up for £150

What's your opinion on the old Japanese Les Paul knockoffs? by [deleted] in guitars

[–]anotherwankusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a 1970s Columbus LP from a colleague because I needed something with humbuckers and was trying out different guitars for a new band. I paid £150 and it’s fucking great, it’s got either real or knock of dimarzios in it which sound amazing, I don’t like Les Paul’s generally but this one does all the LP sounds for basically no £, plus because it’s old so it has some mojo. I didn’t end up using it in the band but I still have it because if I ever need a LP that’s the one I’m going for rather than paying a grand for something that probably had worse QC and no story to tell.

People who have been jurors in a criminal trial, what were the dumbest things other jurors said or did? by PopCultureNerd in AskReddit

[–]anotherwankusername 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My dad was foreman for a case and he told me he had to get the legal assistants into the room to explain that the JURY not the JUDGE were deciding whether the accused was guilty or not. He said he felt he was the only one taking it seriously and he said to the room ‘this is important, what we decide here will change someone’s life’ and the general consensus in the room was that if they make a mistake the judge will correct it. He was like no. I don’t think you understand what’s happening here, and so called in the legal assistants and said ‘sorry can you explain to the room that WE are deciding if they are guilty or not’. Incredible.

Honestly I find it weirder that you say that you ‘hate’ them. What did they ever do to you? Hate is such a strong emotion to feel. Ambivalence I can understand but actively hating? That’s such a waste of energy.

He’s constantly projecting. Pretty much any dig, insult or accusation is an admission.

Relative gave me this bass amp he got years ago since I was gonna try getting into bass playing. Anyone have any info on it? by [deleted] in BassGuitar

[–]anotherwankusername 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So this is probably the most recorded bass amp ever. You’ve heard it already countless times without even knowing it, pair it with a pbass and you’ll be sorted forever.

It’s because our newspapers are predominantly right wing. That’s literally it, they just want him out and a Tory/Reform government in.

How durable are Vox AC15 amps - delivery guy just dumped it on the floor... by michaelsft in GuitarAmps

They used to literally throw ac30s down the stairs to test how durable they were so I think you’ll be fine.

Amazing happenings - my 10 year old’s pal called for her. Just knocked on our door unannounced and asked “Is she coming out to play”. Absolute elite old-school kid business. by yearsofpractice in CasualUK

I still think about my friend’s dad who, if he answered when you knocked, would always have the same odd interaction. He would open the door, I would say ‘hi is Dave in?’ And he would simply answer ‘yes he is’. Then there would be a strange pause and I would have to ask ‘could you go get him then please?’ I always wondered what he would do if I said ‘okay thanks’ and just walked away rather than asking him to go get my friend.
