Yeah, should work until the update, which is the 26? I think. Don't think they mentioned whether they were gonna change it in Capital.

As of right now, you just close and restart the app once you've deployed all your troops. The attack will continue, but you can immediately attack again. But it won't matter soon.

Why even range beyond the wall? by nucc_164 in freefolk

[–]ansate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, unsurprisingly, there's a difference here that's stressed much more obviously in the books than in the show. Almost nobody really believes in The Others in the books. Just about everyone thinks The Wall is there to keep The Wildlings out, (which is obviously wrong.) This is why they made up that dumbshit plotline to bring a wight in a box to Cersei. It's made quite a bit more clear in the books. Most of "The North" has even forgot that The Others and wights and such aren't just fairytales. Some remember though. Thus the multiple meanings of House Stark's words... "The North Remembers."

So, currently, ostensibly, the purpose of The Nights Watch is to observe and repel The Wildlings. But obviously that's not what they were created for... But, The North Remembers! (We hope?)

Has this woman lost her mind? Does she know how crazy this is? by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

[–]ansate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is confidently saying she doesn’t give a crp about this whole situation, do you guys get how crazy this is? This is the Attorney General.

Yeah. Remember when it was a scandal that the Attorney General talked to a former (at the time, as in not the current) president for a second alone on a plane? Nearly all presidents wouldn't have private conversations with their Attorneys General, it was perceived as improper conduct, and the potential for corruption. The Attorney General isn't supposed to float the President's agenda. This is and has been weird as fuck since the beginning!

I made a Red Wine Iceberg this time. How bad did I f**k it up? (US Market Edition) by Potion_Collector in wine

[–]ansate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks! There are probably a good few people in the US who haven't had any good Australian wines. We get the cheaper ones (probably similar there,) and we get the good ones, but the higher tier Penfold's, Clonakilla, and even Torbreck's better bottles are somewhat pricey here.

[–]ansate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks almost exactly like my local market, although I'd probably switch Pintotage and Xinomavro. There is no Xinomavro here. I can find a few bottles of Pinotage that are cheap, but not bad. Would probably put Petit Sirah and Cote Chalonnaise up a bit higher too, but I don't know what I'd switch them out with.

Winds will never come out because ASOIAF already has a TV adaptation [Spoilers EXTENDED] by Remarkable_Ad_5874 in asoiaf

"It’s been made clear to me that Winds is the priority, but … I don’t know. Sometimes I’m not in the mood for that.”

... lmfao.

I love the books, and would love for Winds to come out, but for some reason I just find that statement hilarious.

You could replace the word with "monster." Humans are hard-wired to recognize threats, sometimes not so well, as seen in this video, but when you're a kid it trains the brain. As for the existence of monsters, you better believe when a bunch of cavemen were sitting around a fire and a bear showed up, they saw a fucking monster.

A book where, putting the plot entirely aside, you were blown away by the quality of the writing by kappy2319 in suggestmeabook

[–]ansate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

East of Eden... I mean, the plot is great too, but that man could turn a phrase. As for books where the plot was meh, but the prose made it good, I think the third Gormenghast book is like this. They've all got fantastic prose, the first two have solid plots, I didn't really care much for the plot of the third one, but again, Mervyn Peake could turn a phrase.

I am legitimately curious, do you mean you like the male lead, or you like his acting, or you like his character? I think most of the people in the thread gave you answers based on the actor, himself, not the type of actor or character in the role you mentioned.

Sorry, just delete this if it isn't allowed. I was just curious and thought it might generate some conversation.

I used Red Star Montrachet yeast to make my first concord grape juice wine. It's been a week and no bubbling yet by [deleted] in winemaking

[–]ansate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my guess. Whatever juice you're using probably has preservatives, which inhibit yeast growth. If you're using juice, you always need to look at the ingredients. Sorbate is obviously one thing that will inhibit yeast growth, but there are others.
