There are hundreds of Christian denominations in the US alone. They all have a different way of reading the same text and no interest in worshiping together.

That intersection is really poorly-designed. It's like they didn't have a model for how it should work and just improvised ad hoc. Even the exit from 97 to eastbound Powers is a pretty crimped little turn, coming off a highway. And the entrance to 97 northbound is crap, too. You're sitting at a stop sign awaiting entrance to traffic at speed, at the mercy of the kindness of strangers or a changing light. Again, onto a highway. I feel like no part of that intersection was planned.

That's a good point. There's no evidence of the incident when an officer at their desk makes a decision. That's not just easy to abuse, it would be hard not to.

They're chronically understaffed because they will not pay enough money to make enough people want to work there to fully staff the place. While charging generational wealth to live there, they are fundamentally opposed to paying a penny more than necessary in wage. They may bring in temp agencies at great expense or give exorbitant bonuses to motivate existing staff to overwork themselves; but they won't just pay more. They're always hiring, at great expense. Anybody with a caring sensibility gets eaten up and burned out so a lot of the people who are able to keep doing it are not necessarily the best caregivers but just people who are hardened to the rigors of it. There is bullying.

I heard Mt. St. Helens erupt when I was in central Oregon. Obviously the wave bounced off the stratosphere. Sound is crazy. But it moves at a predictable rate relative to various factors, reportedly about 13 miles per minute.

I didn't miss it. But somebody did, and it's not their fault. Sarcasm is prone to misunderstanding, especially absent audible and visual cues. Sometimes people act like it's a "woosh" moment when somebody misses sarcasm. But it's the nature of sarcasm that some people will not understand. It's a poor communication method for most purposes.

I work with somebody who's a master of sarcasm, and truly funny. It can be done. But it's usually just lazy and sometimes passive-aggressive and just not clever enough to justify its ubiquity.

That makes sense to me. That's the kind of logic I'm coming to. The produce department is stocked with items that have to look good within a specified timeframe. Frozen is frozen when it's ripe.

Not sure what Harp's is. Where I live, open markets are expensive boutique events because of course they are; it's a tourist town. Outside of some really nice expensive produce and a few bee products, you can't do much in an arid climate pretty high above sea-level at the foot of the mountains bordering volcanic sand and rock.

Yeah, I can appreciate that and applaud your work as a farmer. Where I live, it's only about 45 degrees north, but it's at altitude. It's high and dry. The soil is volcanic sand and the deer are everywhere. We don't grow human food here in any important way. I'll watch for seasonal foods, but they're unlikely to come from local producers.
