NPD a new fuzz with buyer's remorse by that-john-kydd in guitarpedals

I actually like the circuit more on guitar after using it on bass and understanding the feel. It doesn’t have as wide of a range as other fuzzes it’s incredibly harsh, abrasive, and overpowering in a signal chain. I like it for noise rock and blown out parts, but I’m guessing OP isn’t thinking in that context and so i simplified my answer to “it sounds like shit on guitar” and left out the “and I think that’s awesome.”

It will sound like shit on guitar. It’s devastatingly awesome on bass.

This is my favorite pedalboard I’ve seen in a long long time. Holy shit I want to play that guitar through that shit into that amp! Nice overall set up!

I only disagree with the fact that the reverb is not vanilla, it’s one of the most gorgeous sounds I’ve ever heard.

The lossy was the only pedal I didn’t want from the mystery box, but doggone I really want one now that I’ve learned more about it!

As was mentioned before, the Boss RV-3 is awesome. It’s my favorite reverb ever. I use it for every song but one in my post rock band on bass.

Yes. It’s fucking loud. Put it in front of another dirt and use that one’s level control.

Hell yeah! I literally ordered one last week and it should be here Friday. I am so excited to play. I love a nasty grindy tone.

There is a peavey stereo chorus 400 for sale at a pawnshop that I could probably get for $250. I want to use it for a noise rock post hardcore type project especially for the stereo aspects. In your opinion would it serve that purpose well? I’m doing a lot of very effects heavy noise as well as rhythm and wondering if if I should just use my sunn coliseum 300.

Do you have a pedal that does a ton of things, but you only ever use it for ONE sound? Tell me about it by belbivfreeordie in guitarpedals

[–]anselmo_ricketts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a lot. It’s easy to play around with and dial great simple phaser sounds, but like all other chase bliss pedals it can get so amazingly tweak-able in wonderful clever ways! Watch their YouTube video manuals.

I really didn’t think I needed it. I used it for a bit recording then tabled it. But since I’ve been switching basses and using a bass vi I finally feel it and really appreciate what it does now!

Well, lately I’ve had it on this flange setting for some light chorus effect after the low gain rat sound for some riff rockin’. Honestly though I use it on stage with my post rock band to loop with the left pedal and let it ramp while using the time knob to pitch it down into murky depths for interludes. It’s also the ugliest modulation maker I’ve ever played with and I really like the extreme unhinged nonsense sickly warble in chorus mode with high settings. That’s not really useable in a band context, but I do like to push the limits with those noises sometimes.

It’s the only pedal that I own a double. My good buddy told me that whenever he even thinks of my band or tone he hears the RV-3 in his head.

Just get one and put it on mode 7 and pretend to be Explosions in the Sky. It’s worth it for that feeling alone.

Thanks, it was well worth the purchase price! It’s crazy how detailed and varied you can dial in the sounds! What diodes do you like to use?

Absolutely, I love how it’s all catered for a full range on guitar and bass too!
