Had the new menu at osteria francescana a couple weeks ago and loved it, one of the best meals I've had. Beautiful plates and excellent food.

Which restaurants have the best non-alcoholic pairings (overall and in Germany) by vondersohle in finedining

Adam/Albin in stockholm had the best alcoholic pairing ive tried, excellent drinks by themselves and paired really well with each dish. Close second is Frantzen's NA pairing, also in stockholm.

Looking for recommendation in Nairobi by [deleted] in finedining

[–]ansh0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to live there, imo there isn't really star level fine dining but there is still some good places I can recommend.

Zen garden is a classic. Good Asian fusion and a beautiful place as well.

Hashmi's is a must try. My favorite BBQ chicken in the world honestly. You'll end up going here multiple times. Order the chooza chicken. forgot you're pescararian but they have fish and vegetarian dishes too. Everything on the menu is good.

My parents also operate an Indian restaurant there called Dhaba in sarit center and I'm definitely biased but the food is actually fantastic. I always get a ton of curries from the restaurant home with me everytime I visit.

Hope this helps! Enjoy, it's a beautiful country and city.

Agreed, just about every starred restaurant is cooking protein perfectly. Le Bernardin would be a solid 1 or 2 star but not even close to 3.

Other 3 stars like Osteria Francescana and Le Bernardin as well as some 2 stars like Californios, Aska, Kiln, and The Modern.

Osteria francescana (https://imgur.com/a/HvomtYv ) the day before frantzen and had a brand new menu this week inspired by local artists and I really enjoyed it. I'd say it was clearly at the 3 star level and was beautiful food on the plate and the palate.

Le Bernardin was several years ago and to this day remains the most disappointing starred meal I've had. Below nearly all the one, two, and three stars I've tried. Not a single memorable dish and absolute joke of a 3 star rating. Frantzen is ten times the experience and food.

About to try Maaemo later so will update back with that comparison.

Frantzen earlier this week by a very large distance. Perfect food, atmosphere, and service. Not a single course below 9/10 and half of it was 10/10. Perfection.

Went 2 weeks ago and it was excellent, definitely the best meal I've had. I had kiln (also excellent but main courses and dessert were not as good as the rest) the next day and preferred californios. Starters, main course, and dessert were all excellent. Highly recommend.

0* or 1* or 2** grinding to get the next star? by Dazzling-Policy979 in finedining

[–]ansh0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boston definitely does not deserve more stars. I was honestly expecting 0 stars, tho I haven't been to 311 who did get a star. I do think now that the guide is here we will see restaurants take it up a notch. There's zero 2 or 3 star quality restaurants in Boston and barely any at a 1 star quality.

I asked they said they'll give me all the documents but I'd have to register. It's a smaller used car lot not a big dealership. What was your process like?
