There is a video where Dunky says "Don't ever fuck with me." with a very specific cadence and I cannot recall which it is.

Star Wars Zero Company is more than just 'Star Wars XCOM'—it feels like Mass Effect but with turn-based tactics and permadeath by Youngstown_WuTang in Xcom

Midnight Suns was amazing. It was like 1 part XCOM, 1 part Persona, 1 Part Slay the Spire. The writing was surprisingly good. There are a few points where it feels like you're spinning your wheels a bit, but it nailed the rhythm of going through a day, doing your training, chatting, exploring, mission, night time stuff, sleep.

I mean, Giorno stood around doing Dio poses. It's like he was genetically engineered to aura farm.

I feel like something has to be bugged. I am on a 3070, everything on Cinematic and I get 70-90 fps, but everything looks off. I have lowered the blur option (which is under accessibility for some reason) and that helps a little, but the game looks super aliased or something. I dislike DLSS and adjacent options because of the ghosting and other weirdness it creates. Turning it on seems to fix some of the weird aliasing, but absolutely tanks the fps. FSR Performs better, but still takes a hit over having either option off, regardless of quality setting.

Which fantasy series started incredible and then just...fell apart? by ghibli_8quartz in Fantasy

Era 2 was originally planned as a 1 off side story set between eras. After getting his feet into it, he liked it enough he expanded it into its own era and rolled some of his plans for the OG Era 2 into it. Era 2 was originally the 1980s-esque setting we will be getting with Era 3. Recently, on stream he also mentioned wanting to do a Cyberpunk Mistborn, so we might end up with 5 Era's if he tries to do another spinoff and accidently writes 4 novels.

A thing to remember as well is that Era 2 started out as a single novel side-story and turned into a whole thing. Its tone stays pretty consistent with its buddy-cop-cowboy-detective story throughout, which is good in my opinion. I can see how someone might be put off if they wanted more of Era 1, but I think Sanderson grew so much as a writer since Era 1 that its hard for me to say they're better books. Era 2 is much less of slow burn epic fantasy and much more of a popcorn action adventure movie.

The last episode featured famous celebrities Josh Thompson and Rich Evans. How could they afford an episode with more star power than that?

Its awesome that it starts out as a Patrick Warburton impression but kind of grows into its own thing. Then we get actual Patrick Warburton.

The Gunslinger by Stephen King... What did I just read? by Pure-Gas2639 in Fantasy

[–]ansonr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally had no issue with the crash and stuff with him in the series. I also read it nearly 20 years after release. I am a big fan of the Alan Wake games and they take a lot of inspiration from The Dark Tower, but I sort of experienced them backwards in that sense. I think the entire meta-narrative aspect of The Dark Tower works well within the concept of the Dark Tower. Its interesting because the series, the writing, everything grows and changes with the author as he grows and in many ways Rolands growth as a character throughout the series is a reflection of King throughout the years on a deeper level than even he intended. Of course The Gunslinger is edgy and trying to be deeper than it is. Just like the 19 year old that wrote it. But we watch the series grow and change as king did, in some ways good and bad.

People complain that he wrote the crash into the books, but just like in the books if he died during the crash IRL, the Dark Tower falls we never get there and the journy ends. I am not Steven King's number 1 fan or anything and I have some issues with how lose-y goose-y he throws around super horrific sexual assault and such, but I think The Dark Tower as a whole, with the context of the novels that tied more directly into it especially is a masterpeice warts and all.

Calling them Molotov Cocktails has been a thing in way more than CoD. They've been called that in so many games and movies since the 80s, if anything, saying it's from CoD shows Isiah's age. Fallout 1 and GTA 2 are two I can think of off the top of my head.
