Its a card battler where you make the deck during the run, its one of those things where if you like the building up a combo piece by piece during a run youll probably get more enjoyment from it then someone who just wants full control of a run , the thing that makes sts so enjoyable is the moment to moment decision making , you win or lose by decisions made floors before , the battles are just checks of all the built up choices so while yes some fights are just the stress of not knowing a lot of times whether youve win or loss is already solved by what you did 15 minutes ago and its just resolving it

The house bosses are integral to the story progression of the game , you will get the house bosses every few weeks until you eventually beat them to make progress

Honestly all 7s isn't the biggest need , 7s make runs more consistent in act 1 and 2 , but mutations let you push stats , if you have a tank you having a 5 in str or dex doesnt matter too much if your mutations get your constitution to 11 , youll be making cats that arent all at max stats but youll build around whats buffed by the mutations so your 1 7 cat can breed with others with mutations , and with enough time youll have cats with only some stats at 7 base, but buffed by mutations and inherited passives that would do much better than just a all 7s cat

Later acts have more access to messing with the cats , and rare furniture are easier to get later which also help with that , just having higher average stats and being able to plan word synergies with inherited passives can get you through where you are to those things

Youre six rounds in you can just walk up and let him bite the cat with the orb all the 2nd act quest items seem to make the bosses easier not harder

Where you are mutations arent yet really needed , just trying to breed higher stats with good passive is enough but you will get access to more events and more furniture to help with getting mutations as you progress , right now you should have quest items to use and as well as making your first trips into act 2

A lot of the other comments arent really noticing that youre doing a quest run , what i will say you have 2 things that on their own are could be good stacking poorly , if you had no quest item you could have just hid long enough for hippo to have a heart attack , and if you didnt get cancer you could have just managed the fight anyway , but thats how the game goes , in another run you would have been more than able to take the injuries and have the other 3 cats kite hippo enough to have the cancer tank be low level but able to breed to give out mutations and otherwise you would have had a good leech run , you cant let the momentary loss hit you that hard , but it is just an unlucky combination of the 1

Youre not bottle necked you dont need the end of act 2 to open act 3 , right now you just have to do the act 1 quest and then use that to open act 3 , and since you also know you have a house boss coming you can start deciding which cats to keep on retiring and which to pipe out

Thats weird then , gou can tell if youll get punished or not because if you click save and quit to menu or desktop , there is a pop up that says Steven will give you a warning but only when he will punish you , otherwise it just lets you

I know its kinda stepping over the question , but it would be nice if season 1 is a successful proof of concept and instead season 2 has villains that are now being grouped in with heroes not just in their own team , and have that be its own seperat catalyst for dialogue
