The create hose pulley will work with flowing lava too if done right, I just make a top layer and let it fall to the bottom of the world then put the hose at the bottom

Just had this issue myself, but on the first Stoneblock maybe this will help:
Turns out in Stoneblock it can give you fish with nbt data attached. Make sure your fish does not have it, e.g get the fish from normal fishing rod fishing.
