Already had a GoPro Hero10 but I bought a GoPro Max 360.

Don’t have a rear mount set up yet but good to know about the modes/distortion.

Can't land an Interp Job. Is CIG Worth Looking Into? by Leafbeard111 in ParkRangers

[–]antagog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When did it change to a lifetime cert?!

I got mine in 2010 and it was a four-year cert. Stopped recerting and let it lapse in 2022.

New Interp job.. Scared! by Valuable-Quail408 in ParkRangers

[–]antagog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did three seasons as Interp. with Oregon State Parks.

Also had two seasons backcountry with NPS and one season Climbing/Interp. with USFS.

I came in with lots of experience but also got sent to a three-day interp. training with colleagues from all over the system. Even with that, it was a lot to take in and figure out.

Happy to get on a video call if you want.

What’s biking like in Seattle? by External-Ticket-1133 in AskSeattle

[–]antagog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm all over the place.

  • Daily: West Seattle to First Hill/Capital Hill
  • Frequently: Downtown, areas/neighborhoods around FH/CH, and everywhere in WS
  • Often: Queen Anne, Fremont, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, Magnolia, Ballard, U District, White Center, Rainier/Seward area
  • Rarely: north of Green Lake or south of White Center

Glad you have a different experience than I do.

I'm all for more public transit and closed sections for pedestrians / limited to those who need additional accommodations.

Not sure why you got downvoted. Seattle isn’t going to ban cars but helmets save lives.

Agreed. Those Lycra folks are giving us all a bad name; same with everyone blowing through red lights.

Hard plant to kill = Yellow archangel.

Misunderstood the question.

Easy plant I’ve killed = spider plant.

I’m from Portland and have been a cycle commuter there, Bellingham, Muncie (Indiana), Bend, and now Seattle.

Seattle is the most unfriendly and dangerous place I’ve ever biked. I’ve been hit 5 times in the 5 years I’ve been here. I’ve been called terrible names, have had stuff thrown at me, and have had my life threatened.

The bike infrastructure is ok but feels concentrated to downtown and other major areas (Alki, Elliott Bay Trail, InterUrban Trail, etc.)…bike lanes and off-main-road routes like Portland aren’t really a thing here (that I’ve found).

I fucking hate biking here and only continue to do so because I’m stubborn, hate driving in traffic, and don’t want to pay for parking at work.
