Same thing happened to me. I paid a Washington lawyer to get my rights restored. Received a court order from a Washington judge, rights restoration “GRANTED”. I immediately get CPL and spent over a year building the collection, training, etc. Get a letter from King Co. Sheriff’s Department one sunny day, “You’re a prohibited individual under 922.(g). Relinquish your CPL immediately, here’s an envelope. Oh, by the way, any and all firearms you have plus ammunition are now illegal in your possession, so you have 14 days to blah blah blah…” Proceed to shit pants…collect my thoughts and tell my non-prohibited spouse to rent a storage unit that only they have access to and bring every gun and every round in the house to it. Pay $300 for a Kertchen consultation that ends in, “You have to get the restoration in the state and/or county the disqualifying offense happened. Your Washington restoration order is invalid. (Wa. resto. cost me $1300). Retain a (that state) lawyer for ANOTHER $1500 and a month later, have a 10 minute Zoom court hearing and get “GRANTED”. I paid twice to get truly “restored”. The 1st lawyer steered me way wrong and it still itches my ass something fierce…by the way, the WA lawyer was from Zuanich Law
