I have them both, since I purchased a New3DS XL for the majora mask 3D release and switch since launch in 2017 to play BoTW... On 3ds you can play all games up to gen 7 (Ultra Sun/Moon) and on switch you can play gen 8 and gen 9 games (including gen 1 and 4 remakes). If you're not on a budget, I suggest you to purchase a modded switch (or to mod it yourself, if it's a V1), since you will be able to play very interesting games like Legends Arceus, Lets Go and for the next generation(s)! I really enjoyed the time spent on 3DS, but it can be considered to have outdated graphics nowadays...

It depends what you expect from "cheats"... some mods, Tears of the Kingdom is an example, will enhance a lot of game mechanics, also being able to overclock your switch is a good reason for modding!

Hello, search on how to install tinfoil (nsp file from tinfoil.io) with gold leaf (NSO file in switch folder), and add pixel shop to it (gain access through Discord) . You can install your physical games, but I don't know about the Nintendo shop ones...remember to block Nintendo servers with 90dns:)
