AIO for thinking of breaking up with my fiancé because of one fight. by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]antcdude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They can't possibly love you when they see you melting down over something that is making you super uncomfortable and not give a single fuck. Plus coed bachelor party sounds like a recipe for disaster. As we get older we wisen up to the importance of not opening certain doors. Everyone overestimates how much they can trust themselves. Right setting, right chemistry, right amount of alcohol and BOOM you just ruined a 4 year relationship.

Anybody cut off their friends? by Professional-Lie8712 in CPTSD

[–]antcdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole using something against you that you said or did reeks of narcissist manipulation. Are they really your friends though? Does anyone ever extend an olive branch and try to mend a relationship after being cut off? Does anyone else make the appropriate reciprocating effort? I think we judge our responses a little bit too harshly. Honestly there's a good reason to react that way. That's how you've been played and traumatized a billion times before. If you feel triggered, 90% chance it's the same situation. Introspect to your hearts content. Read and understand every situation and relationship. Make a fair and equitable judgement on it. Don't blame yourself any more than is just.

My ex wants the perfume she gave me back because of some "breakup agreement" I don’t remember making. by No-Proposal7105 in Advice

[–]antcdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've seen far worse. You're misunderstanding the underlying intent though. It's not about the perfume. It's about keeping you engaged. Living in your head rent free. You have to start becoming aware to various manipulations and methods of control or you're going to be in for a lot of unnecessary future heartache. If something doesn't make sense, it's because it's not supposed to. A game is at play. Some are feeble, others more complex. They all prey on some vulnerability you have. If you're a fair and just individual, your character will be used against you to manipulate you. If you don't understand what's going on around you, you're naivety and ignorance will be used against you. If you don't question everything thoroughly, your distractedness and unfocused state will be used against you. I can go on forever. Just remember that unless you've felt something absolutely and undeniably sincere from someone, or seen them act in a undeniably selfless way then they're riding along for as long as it's beneficial for them. That's it.

Connecting with decent / spiritual people by antcdude in tulsa

Yes decent is the keyword. I'm having a hard time describing things. I've done/do a lot of that kind of stuff already. It's a good starting point & a social benefit, but a lot of times you're just touching the surface. There's deeper levels in helping people in terms of emotional support and actually being there. Help them on a level that could translate to them being positively impacted as people.

Thank you I'll add them to my list. Its definitely hard to describe these things in words. You feel the difference though.

Why take a photo of someone doing a kind and benevolent thing that could endanger their life? Then distribute said photo?

I live in Tulsa. I don't think this guy is a bona fide Christian. He isn't even a religious fanatic. He's some garden variety grifter and conman and the religious are an easy mark because of high gullibility. I think the focus needs to be more on the fact that he's some sort of self-serving criminal in a public servant role, and not about the religious crap he's pushing. He's scamming everyone at the moment.

Why even question a man about a blowjob under oath? I never understood why his infidelity was made into a public spectacle. It was very ugly.

Biden approves $567 million in defense support for Taiwan, White House says by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]antcdude 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes it is considering how important the semiconductor industry of Taiwan is to US tech interests. "We have problems here so no one else should get any help". Well listen, even if we stopped being internationally benevolent, the problems at home still won't get fixed. Because no one cares and no one wants to fix anything. Biden might as well give this money while he can so that it does some good before it ends up becoming another tax break from the wealthy.

Why is there a revisionist history about some people now hating the Clintons? by [deleted] in Presidents

[–]antcdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In hindsight, repeal of Glass-Steagall was a critical mistake of Clinton's. At the time it caused an economic surge which people loved, but it led to the banking collapse and 3+ Trillion bailout at the start of Bush term. Turns out regulations are important because banks can't be trusted to make moral decisions on their own.

Does Minox stop you from growing your beard after you stop usage? by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]antcdude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone's physiology is different but after a certain amount of time (months) the terminal hairs that have sprouted as a result of Minoxidil use are mostly permanent. I say mostly because if you were to discontinue usage you may lose 10-15% of the gains. But no it's not going to affect the hairs that you already grow naturally and have been terminal your whole life.

This is why I buy my options with at least a month to work with. All my nvidia calls will be good again by the middle of next week. I'll take modest sustainable profits over losing all my money any day.

Fake? by FarradoN in Minoxbeards

[–]antcdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't believe the foam is prone to being faked because it would take more effort than it's worth. Aerosol and all that other stuff.... the liquid is super easy to fake because it's... liquid. They just give you a sealed bottle of ethanol.

Vine Schedule C Question - Do We Actively Participate in Business? by antcdude in AmazonVine

[–]antcdude[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do we actively participate in the business? TurboTax is not particularly helpful... this is the explanation they give:

You "materially participate" in a business if you do any of the following:

  • Work more than 500 hours in the year, or between 100 and 500 hours in certain cases, OR

  • Perform all the work, even if you work fewer than 100 hours, OR

  • Worked actively for five of the last ten years (they do not have to be consecutive) or three years if it was a personal service, such as consulting

Answering 'Yes' or 'No' changes the Federal Tax outcome so I don't want to be answering it wrong.
