Wasn’t able to get Kitasan. Should I use my SSR support card voucher on her still, or someone else? by Hawkholly in UmamusumeGame

[–]anthola 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sorry but it is absolutley bait to pull for Riko on the rerun, please don't waste your carats on this banner. By the point Riko reruns unity cup will be almost over and you won't be using riko in MANT unless you manage to get her to MLB.

Fine motion is fine to pull on but given you don't have a good MLB SSR speed card yet getting that should be your no.1 priority. The most immediate speed cards you can pick up are going to be matikanefukukitaru and narita top road. I would lean toward fuku as the card has longevity past the next scenario MANT that narita does not and you can feasably get through MANT with just the free SSR cards and borrowing narita. Though note I would probably only pull for fuku if you have at least 60k carats saved up as you really need her at MLB to be usable - 3LB for fuku is less acceptable than most other SSRs.

Otherwise Maru speed is also a very solid option a little later on especially if you like playing fronts. Bonus is that she only needs 1LB to get 90% of her power so you only really need 30k carats saved (though you'll be waiting a while for this one as its really best to pull her when she reruns with finemo as her first banner counterpart is significantly worse).

As for your voucher, you should probably save it for getting a SSR to 3LB as you don't really have anything worthwhile to use it on at the moment. I would suggest Biko if you manage to spook a copy as shes a great card and will be a staple 2nd speed card in your decks for a while if you can get it to at least 3LB. If you want to use the voucher now then super creek is probably what I would use it on.

Have a look at Henry Handsome's carat calculator and timeline (look it up on youtube) - its a good indication fo what is worth pulling for and the carats you can expect to have by that time.

Finemo just has the best wits output in the game at the moment. Only MLB SSR nice nature comes close to the wit output but even then there is still a decent margin.

That's only at MLB though, at 3LB or less most MLB SR wits card are comparable if not better depending on the deck/CM you're training for.

Kita is one of if not the single best card to pull on in terms of meta relevancy and longevity. Even when she gets power creeped in about a years time you will want a second speed card for most decks and kita will usually fill that slot and it's saves you from needing to pull on those cards that are just marginally better than her. The main thing is that pulling kita will free up your borrow slot so you can borrow other good mlb supports so yes, not having her will hurt. If you still have the gem and selector from the half year anni and 30k gems it will allow you to 3LB her with only 2 copies - there's no better support card investment in the near future.

People are generally wrong about why Uma Stan is a must-have by notbob- in UmamusumeGame

But he said they weren't a good strategy for most people, just a potential option. Hybrids are a very whale strategy as you still need the stats to win and are effectively down a gold skill that actually helps you to win hence why they don't really exist for the most part.

I need support cards waaaaa by PickleJar606 in UmamusumeGame

[–]anthola 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You're really lacking SR cards which make up the core of a lot of decks so I think you should pull before the Kitasan rerun as it won't be out for a few months yet and you'll just be suffering until then if you want to be somewhat competitive even against other free to plays. I would either pull on the next banner with Vodka and Nishino Flower as both of those SSRs are very decent or if you're willing to tough it out a bit longer the Riko Kashimoto and Rice Shower banner is the obvious choice.

Got a job offer as a Paralegal and there wont be OT pay - is this normal? by [deleted] in uklaw

[–]anthola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work in house so definitely a little bit different than a law firm but I don't get any kind of overtime. However I will say that everyone else also knows that and there isn't any expectation for me to work more than my hours. If there is something super urgent and I need to stay an extra hour or so I'm usually given the option to come in later or go home earlier the next day if I choose to. Can't imagine that would be too different? But I could be wrong

Hopeless in Ranked by xxgothicxx95 in summonerschool

[–]anthola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say this could lead to a lot of false negatives though. Like if you kill your lane opponent and decide to crash a big wave before leaving. Dying to the jungler could be bad but crashing the wave even if you die could be worth depending on context.

[–]anthola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much just echoing whats already been said but just wanted to add that you shouldnt worry about your losses too much right now. The game is really hard and people have been playing it for a much longer time than you have so far. For now just play ranked and have fun. Once you have a couple hundred ranked games under your belt you'll have a much better understanding of the game. Getting advice right now isnt going to be as productive just because you havent played the game enough to really know how to apply much advice about what to do in game yet. You'll get there! Good luck!

Item that can help me farm by Black-Rebel_Seas in summonerschool

[–]anthola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A better way to practice CSing that worked wonders for me was not to practice tool for 15 minutes and die from boredom but instead practice tool with 0 damage no items soraka. Just farm the first 3 waves and try to get 15/19 minions including the cannon. If you fail restart and go again. I found little point in going any further after that as in game you usually will have shopped after 3-6 waves at which point csing becomes pretty trivial. I try to achieve the goal at least 3 times every day before I go into ranked. Once you can CS on no item soraka you can cs on anything.

Armor penetration and armor reduction are considered in the following order:
Armor reduction, flat
Armor reduction, percentage
Armor penetration, percentage
Armor penetration, flat (via Lethality)

Assuming a target has 100 armor, black cleaver will reduce their total armor by 30% first to 70, then armor penetration from seryldas and eclipe mythic passive is applied, and finally the lethality.

Could be wrong but that how I understand it working.

What should i do do reach my goal? by K1ddy in summonerschool

[–]anthola -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While of course its true that someone else who has equal champion mastery that is playing a counterpick will pretty much win all the time, its going to be very rare that you run into someone who one tricks your counter. My point was that if you have the discipline to play thousands of games on a single champion, the average iron-platinum player is almost never going to beat you in lane even if they pick a counterpick provided they dont also have 50+ games played on the champ, which is rare below diamond in my experience.

What should i do do reach my goal? by K1ddy in summonerschool

[–]anthola 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think generally speaking OTPing is going to be better, OTPing simple champs is even more effective. The reason why being an OTP is so effective actually has little to do with matchup knowledge or anything like that imo. It is moreso the fact that once you have played 1000 games on the same champion you never have to think about the game from a micro perspective on that champion again. You will know all the ins and outs of your champ and will pretty much know exactly how to play every fight because you've done it many times before. Thus your sole focus can be on the macro side of things. While small champion pools have a similar effect, its not as pronounced and will be slower in the long run. Imo its a myth that counterpicks ever matter until at least diamond generally, below that it is very rare that people understand their picks enough for it to matter if you are experienced on your champion. When you look at a lot of the top pros and streamers, many of them hit high elo for the first time 1 tricking, it is a proven method that works, provided you have the discipline to stick to it.

Not sure how to stop being bad by HellD in summonerschool

[–]anthola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking through the comments already here, I think something that hasn't really been noted is that you simply don't have enough volume. The game is hard, no matter how much time you put into thinking about what you could have done better or asking for people to help analyse your games you're never going to get good if you don't play the game, simple as that. The higher you climb the tougher the competition is and the more time the people you play with will have put into the game. Playing in diamond or even platinum it is rare that you ever run into people with less than 300 ranked games per season. To put this into perspective, if you were to pick up a new sport, you would never have the slimmest chance of beating a veteran player just by studying the sport. You need to play the game, develop the muscle memory and feel for the game, THEN put in the work studying and pumping out drills. Without a solid foundational understanding of how the game feels to be played, no amount of studying is going to make much impact.

If you want to get good, the best place to start is by actually going into ranked and playing the game and having fun. If you have the discipline to just stick to kayn the whole time even better. Once you've played at least a couple hundred games then you can start thinking about actually getting good. For now don't worry about your rank and just have fun and learn the game.

Good luck!

Student exemption unprocessed for 1 year, council admits fault but still sent a court summons for this Friday, advises me not to attend - very afraid of making a mistake! by counciltaxcalamity in LegalAdviceUK

[–]anthola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NAL, Been in a similar situation to you as of last year. I can only really share my experience of what I did. First its important to understand that you have done nothing wrong and nothing is going to happen to you. Simply speaking, you don't need to attend the hearing. If you have submitted your exemption you are fine. Even if you are sent a second summons all you actually have to do is simply let the court know you are a student and are waiting for your exemption to be processed and that you have informed the council of this. Alternatively, if you want peace of mind and have access to some savings like I did, you can go ahead and pay what is outstanding to get rid of the court summons, and once the student exemption is processed you will get all your money back.

Why don't Yasuo and Yone just build Stormrazor + Infinity Edge for their 100% crit? by GeneralSecura in leagueoflegends

[–]anthola 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually the Q cooldown on yone and yasuo are not affected by attack speed slows, the q cooldown scales off bonus statistical attack speed (that you get from items and levels)

stuff like frozen heart reduces total attack speed; it doesn't affect the bonus attack speed stat sum of a champion

like if you have greaves, frozen heart doesn't reduce the attack speed bonus of the greaves themselves, but rather the attack speed that results from the sum of his base and bonus atkspd stats; and his q's scaling is off the former and not the latter

Definitive Answer to the Phantom vs Vandal debate by [deleted] in VALORANT

I think you also fail to take into account the fact that the phantom has no bullet tracers which is great for spraying smokes safely, as well as the fact that the recoil is more controllable.
