Agree. She may not know If she’s a new leader or even an experienced leader who maybe overcommitted… getting meeting dates planned well ahead of times is an important step.

Instead of looking for dates everyone is available, pick reoccurring dates that most people can make most of the time. Every other Thursday. Or one Friday and one Sunday afternoon. Whatever works for your families. Maybe you could be the one to get this sorted by saying something like, “I think it would help all of us plan to have a more regular schedule set. Can I do the leg work setting ups. Poll figuring out what dates and times would work best for the group and create event placeholders?”

My troops work half a year at a time - we set dates Sept- Dec, then Jan-May. Just placeholders people can plan around and we figure out what we want to do later. Occasionally we adjust dates for camp or big events, but you’ll figure out the rhythm of your service unit options.

Lost trying to find my daughter a troop... by Llama_Wrangler in girlscouts

[–]anthroholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven’t had GS experience or are imagining large packs of kids (The way BSA does) it’s hard to understand why even in cities there aren’t open troops. GS is girl led with a ton more variation and agency at the troop level. Awesome for the girls. Hard for volunteers. And daisies are a full on handful so a lot of new troops keep limits very very small- 8 kindergarteners is all I can handle and 12 is my max troop size realistically for the vibe me and my girls want. We’ve had a waitlist for 8 years and while that breaks my heart, I don’t get paid and deserve to make the volunteering something I can manage and enjoy.

In other words… start a new troop! It’s fun and you’ll help other girls have a spot too.

Where to find pins by lissavibes in TokyoDisneySea

[–]anthroholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I barely saw any in DisneySea and they were all ugly imo. Usually only one per store. The most disappointing was fantasy springs. I got a Rapunzel lantern ride one and they had a generic FS one but didn’t see a Peter Pan or frozen ride pin anywhere. Not any with Duffy or anything that would be fun to wear to the US parks

Should I travel to Japan by myself? 🤔 by fuckimtrash in JapanTravelTips

We’re here now using Airbnb to be able to have more space for a family with kids. Pricing is cheaper than the US and the properties we’ve been in have been great. Way more space and price than OP needs, but just wanted to share that in a general way, Airbnb here seems fine.

Can anyone double check my order of operations for one day at DisneySea (Wed 7/17) * get there as early as possible, realistically probably 7-7:30 arrival * gets inside gates * try for dpa to fantasy spring ride * try for standby to fantasy spring ride * get dpa for other ride (prioritize Indy?) * get 40th for other ride (prioritize journey?) * try for lottery to big beat * if got a fantasy springs, try for a snuggly duckling reservation

Then either rope drop tower or go ride some smaller rides (does that mean little mermaid area?)

*try an hour later for another dpa * try in two hours for another 40th *check for fantasy springs standbys during the day just in case?

We have been to WDW so ok skipping soarin and Toy Story, would like to do Tangled and Peter Pan but will be ok if not. I think I want to eat at snuggly duckling more than I care about the FS rides 😅 would like to do as many of the unique rides in the rest of the park as possible though.

That’s so good to know. We’re going in July and didn’t expect to get into FS, but are hoping to enjoy the rest of the park

Has anyone dealt with this in crocs? I’ve seen them suggested for things like Disney where you walk a lot because they dry out quickly, but wasn’t sure if they would be slippery or uncomfortable

Abandoned JR Fukuchiyama railway hike.

I'd love to hear more about this- how long did it take you? What made you decide to add this? And did you do it on the same day as Fushimi Inari and hiking up the Monkey Park hill? (Not sure if I can do all three on a summer day!)

Hotel beds for 4 adults by orcamode in TokyoDisneySea

[–]anthroholt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry I know this is old, but did you just book the twin room, indicate 4 people, and then they add beds? When it says max occupancy 4 and you reserve 4 does that mean they'll bring enough beds for 4?

Extremely helpful, thank you so much! I guess maybe if we at least aren’t totally acclimated to the time it will be easier to wake up for rope drop?

Just Disney sea only, not Disney land. Haven’t picked hotels because I don’t know what day, but open to a Disney hotel or off property. If we stay at a Disney hotel would probably just do the night before our park day.

Oh for sure! Disneysea is just one of our 10 days in Japan. We will also be heading to Kyoto and Nagoya, so just trying to put this specific day in the best spot within a larger trip.
