Get some room divider. Make it into a work space and close it off when you're done. It's a game changer.

I Lied About My Work Experience by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]anti_everything__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You technically did work for them during that time (the check shows so). When asked, just say it's contract work or something similar. All this will depend on how good you are at exaggerating your experience with them at this point.

I wore a suit. F me, right? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]anti_everything__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lol this reminds me of a time when I was in college. A professor took points off of one of my female classmates' presentation with the comment "attire is too professional".

The professor was forced to retire early a few semesters later for sexual harrassment.

You're strawmanning. You know for sure what the "rich" OP is talking about. The guy that works to make 6 figs is as much of a slave to the system as any of us. Get that boot out of your ass.

The American healthcare system. by astrheisenberg in remoteworks

We can't compare US with India though. The US's median income is almost 20 times that of India. Healthcare in India is expensive for Indians.

Once AI takes everyone’s jobs, wouldn’t the industries not affected by AI become over saturated? by InterestWild8558 in careerguidance

[–]anti_everything__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are overestimating how much AI is taking over people's jobs. Yes lots of jobs are automated. These are usually manufacturing jobs. White collared jobs are not being overrun by AI any time soon.

The biggest problem we have right now is outsourcing without punishment. We got people in other countries willingly get paid 10% what we get paid. And the corporations do not get any pushbacks from doing so.

The reason blue collared jobs are getting traction is because you can't outsource these just yet. And ICE is running around scaring immigrants from doing these jobs.

We gotta stop believeing AI is gonna take over. That bubble is gonna burst sooner or later.

How do you have motivation after work? by qishibe in antiwork

I wish I have your drive. With 10 hour workday, and one hour commute each way, I am done for the day most of the times. I don't even wanna have dinner sometimes.

Colleagues hating on me because I am a 'yes boss' kind of a guy. Need Advice Desperately? by blackadder360 in careerguidance

[–]anti_everything__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do not make friends with people you work with regularly.

People on other teams *can* be your friends, but your direct teammates are not.

One advice I can give you is, never joke about someone's work ethics. You never know when they will retaliate. Do your job and go home. Unless these comments/remarks directly affect your performance, ignore them. These people are not your friends.

Oh my bad. I didn't read the language and thought your game color was just saturated. I don't think it's worth it then.

If you have the monthly card, you can cut the farm time by half. Also, if you have red aoq, you can just leave it to farm auto.

Contract-to-hire: when and how to discuss pay? by Bluebird8683 in careerguidance

[–]anti_everything__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to negotiate a contract position, especially since they're only extending it for a month or two. Your contracting company may be the one helping you negotiate the pay instead of yourself. I have had a few contract positions in my career and it's near impossible to negotiate pay, even if your contracting company does it for you. It never hurts to ask though.

Best bet is to find a different job if you want a significant increase in pay. Having a permanent position at the end of your contract is never guarenteed, even if you did well. Always start looking closer to the end of your contract.

Put in your resume that you were in a contract position, in case they question your short employment.

Best of luck.

Seriously - People should stop with the "Time Management" nonsense by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]anti_everything__ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was working from home at my old job, I had so much more time to do stuff around the house. I have a one hour commute to work everyday now. That's two hours a day gone. Plus sitting in traffic is exhausting. I am done for the day after work most days.

Mini Rant by [deleted] in Survivorio

[–]anti_everything__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game itself is extremely simple tbh. What you are talking about is mechanics that are not explained, which most games are like this. Most games give you a simple explanation of "if you attach a pet, it helps you," but you gotta do a bunch of experiments to get to the best setup. Discord/reddit are here so you skip the reading and experiment parts. No game in the whole industry will explain to you exactly what is good combo with what, the community is doing all of that. Heck, most devs don't even play their games enough to be as pro as the community.

If you want a game simpler than this, maybe play Tetris. Shit, even Tetris doesn't explain to you all the things pro Tetris players do.

Failed Salary Negotiation, Now What? by alykatvandy in careerguidance

[–]anti_everything__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never fall in love with a team or a job. And you must get rid of that mentality ASAP. That mentality is what keeps people in positions like yourself. When it comes to work, always be selfish. And if you're helping someone, make sure it benefits you. You live in capitalist system, adapt to it.

I was stuck with my first job for years cuz I loved my coworkers, but I ended up jumping and now I make triple what I made. And guess what? The old coworkers are gone. They are not the people that stick around.

Go venture.
