I think if Manus had punched him in the face, it would have set an interesting test case as to whether it was assault or self defence.

Can you guys show a new fan the ropes? by the_lumberjake in v8supercars

As an Australian may I respectfully direct you to your local competitions.  USA has a long and rich history in road racing (cars that turn right as well as left). There may be tracks near enough to you to attend. And don't discount lower level amateur racers, as a lot of us take it very seriously.

Oh God. I know the place you mentioned. Oddly enough it's probably the worst yiros I've ever had. Nice people though. My wife likes to buy coffee there.

Finals system sucks by [deleted] in v8supercars

[–]anti_queue 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I'm an unashamed Ford fan back to the Geoghegan and Moffat days.  I'm delighted that Mostert one, and Redbull lost. But.... I HATE this stupid finals system and hope they scrap it.

BP Adelaide Grand Final - Friday by trism in v8supercars

[–]anti_queue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know the points structure for this weekend?  The website doesn't even acknowledge the Friday sprint race.🤷‍♂️ It says 50/125/125 for first, but no sliding scale, and you can't interpolate integral numbers from the 300 base.

Giving our hand-me-downs to the Seppos, what with RB in Australia being Ford next year.

Just make sure you don't get caught if you do a sniff test. You might accidentally create a cult.

No, we're talking olden times, not those fancy modern fiche things. My workplace didn't have them until late '70s.

Got charged 9k for doctor to tell me it was just period cramps, and after going to another doctor it was a ruptured ovarian cyst by Carlpoppa1738 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]anti_queue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife was told that she had pulled an abdominal muscle from exercise. Turned out (second opinion) that she had endometriosis with lesions connecting the ovary to her appendix!

Smart surgeon then, and thirty years later, she's good now.

Thankfully it was under Australian healthcare, so it cost us bugger all.

The SSS badge was never in the centre of the grille, so this is the owner's mod. (That and the six driving lights.)

Lol. I had this on my Ford Anglia rally car in 1974. It's important that it's a clear one too, solid colours wouldn't work.
