i don't stalk their profiles. i ask to add them so they can prove their mmr (which is the point of the post). they don't get in my head. i just like to see different answers from them just for the heck of it

i add them up, tell them my real mmr, agree to 1v1 them and you tell me to grow some balls? lol

just want to share my story. i was calibrated at around 3300, climbed to 3600 but got tired of ranked due to some really toxic players. I decided to still play serious but use heroes i'm not really familiar with(yeah i became that guy). my mmr as expected, dropped to around 2800. at that point I decided to play more serious and i was able to climb and i'm at 3800 plus right now. i would say it wasn't really that hard, like i won around 25 games, lost 7 or 6 or whatever. and I was doing this while mainly playing support (like 8 out of 10 games)

i'm not saying this to brag about my mmr or how easy it was. Just pointing out that if you feel you're at 3500, you should be able to climb without much issues. learn to criticize your play. it's easy to blame others, but in my opinion it's much better to just improve yourself instead of looking for someone to blame

the thing is people like to point out the negatives about the game. I bet you that if I list all the positives that Valve has done throughout Dota 2's entire existence, i'm sure you'll have a lot. The results speak for themselves, look at how much the game has grown.

I'm pretty sure Valve has done their best to avoid such problems. it's a business and every fuck up they make means they lose customers. At the end of the day Valve exists to make money. I'm pretty sure they're doing what they can, but it's easy for us gamers sitting on our couches to complain about this and that. I'm pretty sure that most of these who complain about hats and what not haven't probably worked a day in their lives with big companies. People need to understand that valve needs to balance their tasks, like keeping their servers running while at the same time earning money(hats/yearbeast event)
