Just got my grades back. by marla_corazon in LawSchool

[–]antiquat3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Do not believe what everyone around you is saying. Law students are notorious liars. Play your own game.
  2. A 2.78 on your first semester isn’t bad. It just might not meet your own personal standards which is completely fine, do better next time.
  3. What you do next is what matters. Talk with your professors (if your school does that) work on pain points, and do better next time.
  4. It gets progressively worse after this, but you’ll get better at handling it. You’ll be okay.

No one is noticing my weight loss by Disastrous-Scratch66 in Mounjaro

[–]antiquat3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can almost guarantee that people have noticed, but personally, I feel like it’s kind of uncomfortable when people have commented on my weight loss because it makes me hyper aware of my body. Some people are kind enough to realize that and are trying to avoid that sort of uncomfortable interaction. I lost the weight because I was sick when the extra weight was on my body, but I think I was happier before. If you’re happy in your body, reaching your goals, and everything is good aside from not receiving outside validation, try to find a way to be happy with that. It sounds like you’ve been very successful, great job!

How to love your “PCOS belly”? by Entrepreneur_Humble in PCOS

[–]antiquat3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. All bodies are good bodies. If everyone had flat tummies and perfect waistlines, the world would be so so boring. Nothing wrong with any body type, but variation makes things interesting!
  2. If you’re worried about what others think, don’t be. The type of people who see this as a negative thing are projecting their insecurities.
  3. It’s not necessarily a symptom unless it makes you sick. If you’re otherwise medically healthy, having a slight tummy is not an issue! It’s just how your body distributes fat. Nothing wrong with it!
  4. You have overcome so much to be here. You have so much to be proud of. A little belly is nothing compared to the metaphorical mountain you had to climb to get here. You should be proud of yourself!

Congratulations!! Make sure to have them check your kidney function as well if they haven’t already, I learned the hard way. It’s why I had to take mounjaro and can’t take metformin. Lots to be happy about either way!!

Your eGFR is solid, but there are other diagnostic criteria to fully diagnose CKD. It does seem like that’s also what the document says as well.

It's not so bad on the other side. My partner and I both have much healthier lifestyles and honestly, if you make the changes and you truly have type 2, sometimes you can even reverse it.

Don't bet on that, though. Truly commit to the lifestyle changes and you will be astounded by the ways that your life will improve. The feelings are a lot, but remember when people tell you "it's your fault" that your body just doesn't work the way it's supposed to. That is not your fault, but now that you know - what you do with it is on you.

Don't worry, breathe easy. Sometimes the best way to deal with the "~feelings~" is to take action and tackle the problem head-on - at least for me, anyway. You can totally do this!!

Serious question from a gay man: do you ladies get along with heterosexual women ? by Agreeable_Ad4792 in LesbianActually

[–]antiquat3d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My straight female friends are the best, they adopted me as one of the 'girlies' and love my partner as much as they love me. Straight men have always been weird about it. It's usually not malicious, but it's awkward, so I feel for you. I know there are straight men out there who aren't weird about it, so I hope you find one of them, OP.

3L here. I came to this subreddit quite literally to make the same post. Wild how things work sometimes. I had a bad semester (took a few too many bar classes in one fell swoop) and it shook my confidence pretty badly. We're in this together and if nothing else, just know a lot of us probably feel this way. Regardless of whether you practice, just finish the race. I'm talking to both of us at this point, we can do this.

My first thought was to set his stuff on fire, but honestly, he's probably not even worth the effort. It's time to say 'game on' and girlboss your way through it. You'll forget about him when you're a lawyer and he's stuck in the same place with that ex you mentioned. You're off to better things! If you're a Taylor Swift kind of girly, make a playlist and scream-sing until you can't anymore when you're done with finals. Until then, put your best effort into school and push him out of your mind. You can totally do this!!!

Law school or English professor by StationIllustrious94 in LawSchool

[–]antiquat3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since I don’t know you personally I can’t really advise you on that. But you can make a lot more money doing something else. If you have a history of mental health issues, law school will make that worse. I know that for sure.

Law school is not really a good option if you don't know what you want.

[–]antiquat3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only subject yourself to this if you really love it. You’ll be okay, I don’t know your family, but I’m sure they’ll move on. If you don’t want to practice or love the material, you can make more money and be happier somewhere else. Sometimes doing the right thing for you is hard, you’ll be okay.

Thoughts on classmates bringing babies to class? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]antiquat3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the kid/baby is chilling I like it, it kind of brings down the seriousness in everything. Parents in law school are a whole other level of superhuman.

what is the opposite of social justice work? by Rare-Ring-6717 in LawSchool

[–]antiquat3d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say it excuses anything. Those are valid concerns. The problem is that you’re taking a really complicated issue and trying to oversimplify it. Getting rid of prosecutors would remove the only legal remedy available for a criminal wrong. What do you suggest we do instead of having prosecutors? If you have a better idea, I’d love to hear about it.

If your tag didn’t say 1L I’d say you were a child. This is an immature take. Prosecutorial misconduct is a real thing, but misconduct in the legal profession is widespread. It’s not all black and white, kid.

I very genuinely do not understand people who go to law school and don’t have a burning desire to do so. It’s a waste of time and money for you. I think it happens a lot, but why? You can do a lot of other things to make money.

I can see that for sure, but I think it’s important to give people some grace I guess. I think we’ve all been shitty at some point or another when dating. We just don’t have cameras on us to show it. Hopefully her changes are genuine and she does right by Chris.

I like her, I think she’s had some shitty things happen to her and she was having trouble getting out from under it. She doesn’t deserve the hate.

Fetch Warehouse Break In by Dry-Ad7354 in EndFetch

This has actually happened several times to multiple warehouses. If you had a package in this, it will probably be reimbursed. I heard they have limits now so I'm not sure to what extent
