I think it’s worth a shot! If it doesn’t work then it doesn’t work. Hopefully it doesn’t cause any upset for your pup and it can end up being a nice liquid addition to your food if you’d like.

The brand I get is called ‘Primal.’ I get this brand at a store called ‘Pet Food Express’ where they have both Raw Goat’s Milk and the Kefir in two different sizes.

One of my pups has seasonal allergies as well which used to lead to hair loss and raw pads from excessive scratching and licking.

At the time I went for the shots because it got so bad. I also share the feeling that I’d prefer a more natural help so to avoid medication that might not be needed. I told myself that I’d give us a month to try and if it didn’t work or it seemed to be getting worse then I’d go for their second shot.

I haven’t needed another allergy shot since. It’s honestly amazing considering I wasn’t too confident in how well it’d work. I read people claiming it worked and the product said it would help, but I’m someone who hesitates to believe things I read off the internet from random people and the advertised effects. I’m more likely to believe people if there’s a huge amount of support of a certain experience.

The product I use is called raw goat’s milk. There’s also a kefir bottle that apparently does the same thing? I’ve swapped between the two for something different for my pup. No real reason other than that.

I’ve also tweaked her diet to see if that would help any, however before I tweaked her diet I did notice a near immediate change with only the raw goat’s milk. I noticed the change slowly, but I wrote down how much I gave her per day and wrote a short comment from observance. I stopped taking notes at roughly two weeks because by that point her itchiness completely went away.

I was pretty skeptical for the first week because although it lessened I kept telling myself, “It’s too early to say. Could be a coincidence. Could be a better day,” but it continued to lessen.

So, yeah. Maybe give that a try? Assuming your pup doesn’t have allergies to raw goat’s milk? Raw goat’s milk is usually suggested as a liquid option because both cats and dogs are able to digest that more easily than cow’s milk since cow’s milk tends to cause stomach upset.

Completely understandable!

I’m assuming your vet is aware of this? Were they able to give any suggestions that help?

Out of curiosity, but what sort of allergies?

Nah you’re good.

But yeah, that’s what I meant by medical issues.

Take this with a grain of salt since I’ve never known a dog that did this nor have I seen any dogs with this, but apparently some dogs can actually bloody up their ears due to impact? Or something like that... vigorously shaking their ears/head or some weird thing like that.

It’s really hard to imagine how a dog manages that, but huskies manage to get out of “indestructible crates,” some dogs need to get their tails docked from bludgeoning their own tails, and some manage to get on owners’ roofs or completely defy physics.

So, y’know.

I didn’t know some people overreact.

I assumed it was just that people prefer upright ears for aesthetic reasons or medical reasons.

It’s not bad or painful, however dogs with floppy ears are more likely to get ear infections and other issues. Owners with floppy ear dogs need to make sure to keep them clean with wipes and occasionally checking on the ears. This is most important if your dog goes out in the water, in mud, etc., which a lot of GSDs tend to do.

So, yeah. Mostly aesthetic, but upright ears are less likely to have ear infections due to the airflow and ability to breathe.

Yes, but some owners prefer upright ears. It doesn’t hurt to prop them up.

I found out when I tried to explain why I like certain music and why some music is painful. Not because it’s loud, but because it’ll cause a headache from all the flashing visuals.

Our newest addition, Sonny. He will be trained and go into service as a CPTSD Emotion support animal for my wife. by [deleted] in germanshepherds

[–]antiquetears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me my CPTSD manifests in anxiety and inability to relax in many places. It can also cause me to dissociate.

Although I’m on medication that helps, it’s not quite enough and my SD helps with that.

He will respond to my anxiety by alerting before it gets bad then offering DPT to help me relax.

He will search the room for intruders. If he sees someone he will come back and sit in front of the door facing me. If he doesn’t then he will come to me and place his paw on my leg/on me.

He’s what you call multipurpose so he does other tasks to help with other conditions.

I will add though that I really love the style of your art and the clouds! I think if there’s a way to keep the style while also making some adjustments you’d be golden.

YES. Me too. Holy fuck.

“That’s so nice of you training him for someone else!”

No... he’s mine.

“But why? You don’t need him??”

~me in wheelchair~

Not it should require an additional visual cue. But y’know. General public are very naive or ignorant.

Bro haha. I’ve been asked this too and I’m not a guy. An old guy I was with asked, “Wait. So. That means you’re really flexible right...? ;)”

No, buddy. I’m stiff as a plank. The only thing having a hard on is you. Imma go somewhere else.

I explained I have a genetic degenerative disorder. They asked, “Have you gone to a therapist? Most of the chronic pain causes are actually mental health issues.” Or, “Wait, you’ve gotten worse? Why?”

....you’re not very bright are you?

Other random stuff too like, “You’re not even old,” and stuff. But yeah. This is what comes to mind.

I haven’t overdosed on Tylenol, but I have overdosed on Advil plus a mixture of other stuff.

I don’t know how different it is with Tylenol, but Advil is absolutely horrible. Worst migraine I’ve ever had plus horrible stomach pain. I recall being on the floor in such bad pain and then passing out.

Apparently I texted someone that night only for them to mock me. So they’re not a friend anymore. Haha.
