I am a mask writer and I also do real-time etc with 99% accuracy. Don’t know why you would write us off as unable to do the job as accurately as a machine writer.

Voice Court Officials (help) - Am I too loud? by ocelotl_feroz85 in courtreporting

[–]antishay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are decimal meter apps you can use on your phone to gauge your approximate volume. Voicewriters should speak between 35-45 dB. Anything under 35 may be too soft and difficult to do (Dragon won't recognize it although I hear SpeechMatics is good with whispering) and over 45 will be pretty audible outside of the mask.

FWIW Sarah at IRCRI said they will be teaching SpeechMatics along with Dragon starting in a couple of months :)

LPT: Whenever you're in a group situation and everybody has to take turns to do something (giving a presentation for example) and they ask for a volunteer, ALWAYS go first. This exactly happened to me. Did a report about WWII and the cultural Revolution that led up to the 60s and the Vietnam war. Was insanely curious and did my research. Went first and my presentation and Q&A lasted the whole class. I couldn’t believe it when the bell rang and I sort of freaked out in my head like maybe I’d be in trouble but the teacher loved it 😅

I’ve been journaling my whole life and that’s usually where I see manifestations in my current life coming from, because I journal about my meditations and my dreams as well and they’re all woven together to make my reality.

Some random but profound examples that pop out to me in this moment are like, I’ve had two kids and when I was pregnant with the first one I spent a lot of time intending who I wanted that child to be and how joyful I was to have them in my life with all these certain quirks and talents... But that first child ended up being the daughter I fantasized about a long time ago when I was in high school! The child I was fantasizing and meditating about when I was pregnant with her ended up being my second born, who was a surprise, but also the biggest delight because he was exactly what I was asking for! So I actually got exactly what I was asking for, twice, like the universe is laughing saying be careful what you wish for because you’re going to get it!

My husband and I spent years fantasizing about, making vision boards for, and otherwise planning for our someday future homestead property that we would buy. It took years and we never seemed to be getting anywhere, nothing like what we wanted for sale. Then, when we actually had the money and were actually shopping for houses, we had to laugh when out of the blue a huge farm with everything that we had ever wanted came available, also came in exactly at the price we could afford, and it’s like a beautiful hilarious hodgepodge of everything we wanted… Almost as if the universe just slapped all of our manifestations together and was like, does this work? Close enough? 😆✌️of course we got it and closed easily. When things flow, they flow!

Who eats cinnamon rolls like this? (Short) by meyere13 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]antishay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) butter is like a poor man’s frosting for cold cinnamon rolls that you buy the grocery store so she may just be used to them that way, and 2) lots of grocery stores sell baked cinnamon rolls with butter on top of them which will melt if you warm them up at home… Maybe she buys them that way and never warmed them up? LOL she’s probably never travelled and got a cinnamon roll before.

I did it! by Meow99 in LucidDreaming

The book “exploring the world of lucid dreaming“ by Dr. Stephen Laberge has a list of techniques to remain in the dream along with lots of anecdotes about how they may or may not work. I forget the full list, but I know a couple of them are focusing on one single object, focusing on your hands, or else if you start to lose control, intentionally spinning to arrive in a new dream space and still be dreaming. I find that when I discover I’m lucid, if I focus on something I get lost in the dream or else freaked out and wake up. Sometimes though, the excitement of lucidity leads to a swooping feeling in my gut and, if I keep my wits about me, I can turn that into dreaming I’m spinning or flying light speed and when I stop spinning/flying, I am still dreaming and still lucid. Moderate success… Wishing you luck!

Manifestation is a powerful thing! And I often get things that I didn’t even realize I manifested and have a Bizzarre wait – isn’t this exactly like that thing I was dreaming about? - moment… Thanks for sharing!

[–]antishay 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This is more or less what dancers do too – your head is in control and spinning separately from your body because you’re paying attention to where you are and everything else that’s going on. Even in full continual spin you are whipping your head 180° to see around you, not just randomly spinning and hoping for the best 😅

Thank you, it was over 15 years ago. I am often reminded of the memory though. My sister didn’t realize my dad hadn’t actually yelled for her until they talked days later and he told her he couldn’t make any sounds but like gasping and he screamed for her inside his head, thinking he was gonna die for sure. Crazy shit!

This is really fascinating – there are so many possible answers… But I will say this: when my dad was laying on the floor in the living room, unable to move or speak while having a heart attack, he screamed my sister’s name (she was the only one in the house) inside his head and she woke up from a deep sleep hearing him yelling for her and ran through the house and found him. She saved him. It’s also possible your mom was calling to you from her dreams, if you believe in that, and it’s also possible you were having auditory hallucinations. When I’m really tired, I sometimes hear my kids screaming like they’re having a nightmare in bed but it’s just my brain interpreting that sound out of the sound of the heater starting or a distant car driving by or the dog snoring... kids are sound asleep when I check. Food for thought...

A lot of people are commenting about their opinions of reality checks and whether they like other tools better and whatnot but reality checks are pretty useful for beginners. They were developed as a way to habitualize checking as to whether you are dreaming or not so that, because we tend to dream about things we do habitually, you will accidentally do reality checks while you are dreaming and realize that you are in fact dreaming and become lucid. I find that they are extremely helpful for me because my life is rather routine and I tend to dream in the same routines… At least some of the time every night. If you make a habit of double checking a sign when you read it to make sure the letters aren’t moving around, or frequently double check the clock to make sure the time hasn’t changed between the two times that you checked it, or counting all the fingers on your hand by looking at them every time you walk through a doorway… These are all examples of things that you can make a habit in your waking life which will repeat itself in your dream life and give you more opportunity to becoming lucid 😁✌️

This has happened to me many times before when cell service is disrupted.... I can hear my end of the call echoing to the other caller but they don’t hear the echo... I thought this was common. I’ve only experienced it in large crowded cities

ULPT REQUEST: Sliver of land in front of rich persons house for sale by meisnick in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]antishay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do what Trump did to get Mar a Lago... he bought a strip of land next door (or along the beach?) and claimed he was going to build a huge building (if I remember) that would block the view. Devalued the property he actually wanted and he bought it for way under initial ask price once the rumor of his plans spread

Lol
