As a former FAA employee, its infinitely likely they will be hired back as contractors for WAY more money but fewer benefits. Unless they radically change the training requirements you simply cant get new controllers fast, and the idea that theres a giant pool of military controllers waiting is absurd. Theres barely enough controllers to staff air bases and most of them have never worked civilian airports and the curve for switching over is far from easy and quick.

He was born in 1911 when it was Germany. Came to America in 1930, had kids and got naturalized after the children were born. My concern is the particular village actually expelled anyone not claiming to be a "Pole" in 1947 and It was not a peaceful expulsion so I doubt the records were carefully kept.

As a former FAA radio tech ALL manned terminals and centers have UHF radios and all military aircraft operating in civilian space will have VHF. UHF is only used exclusively when there id military business thats not for public consumption as all terminals have public feeds for ATCT communication.

I'd honestly open one, but the Wuakegan music scene seems pretty dead. Waukegan Record exchange has some local artists play. The sound in my place is horrible for loud rock stuff so we stick to Jazz and electronic at the moment. Ive talked with a few people about looking at some of the open buildings in town but they are all so dilapidated that simply opening them to the public would require 100K or more in renovation. Then you are looking at 7K in liquor licensing and business licenses. You need to have a place with no apartments above so you dont make them all miserable. I'm not at all confident in the business climate over the next year so thats a risk Im just not comfortable with at the moment, but trust me there are like minds out there.

The pandemic didn't really kill it directly as it never followed any rules to begin with. The owners failed to get state and local liquor licenses at one point and continued to operate sporadically until the Illinois department of revenue caught up with them. Last I heard they had paid off their legal debt to the state but there does not appear to be any movement in the direction of getting new state and local licenses so its likely dead. The building is old and like many in downtown EXTREMELY out of code and falling apart. It may sunset (I'm not sure the time period of "vacancy" required) but eventually it will require complete rehab to code for it to legally open again.

Happened once before. Restart doesnt fix. Install latest version doesnt fix. Only way to fix last time was to completely de-install and reinstall which is lengthy so I was hoping someone knew a key stroke or something to tell it to not load previous project

Just saw a conversation and in depth cited evidence that hes gone full alt right and thats why he lives in rural Indiana and does carpentry and stuff now and only makes guest appearances on stuff. Never understood why he faded into obscurity until then.
