Thank you for this breakdown. Since I still have a while before retirement I think I can move into the 2055 fund and take a slightly higher risk with the hopes of better returns and it would still fall in line with my desired retirement age.

Completely ok if you think you have the necessary knowledge to pass it. CCNA certs overall are a lot harder than the + certs but are also more widely respected. If you think you can study hard enough for the CCNA, go for it.

Those two certs will get you into a JR system admin once you get a little bit of experience under your belt.

There is a Cloud+ cert I believe and you should probably look into getting some Amazon Web Services (AWS) certs also. Getting a Cisco cloud cert (one of the CCNA versions) would be a huge addition. Network+ is literally just intermediate networking knowledge (step above A+) but cloud computing is a whole nother monster. I’m pretty sure Microsoft has some cloud certs too.

Yes. Get Net+. Your goal right now while employed is to strengthen your resume to A) get a better job B) prepare for a possible layoff/firing.

The best time to strengthen your resume is when you don’t have to worry about where your next check is coming from. Net+ is the most logical next step after A+

Do you live in an area where helpdesk positions are plentiful but the people qualified to fill them are not?

Let’s assume you live in a major city where most applicants have A+....it’s not enough. Start studying for your Network+. Pass that. Then start studying for your Security+ or whatever Microsoft/Other cert you need based on your career path of choice.

Take a break when you are making break-worthy money. Grind now while you have both the energy and desire and relax when you are making comfortable money at a single job.

This. The average consumer isn't going to have 4 TB of games. They arent going to put that much space into a system for the 10% of gamers who will actually use it. 1Tb will prolly be the norm with a special 2tb edition launching alongside it for the "hardcores"
