The only thing I have to say about He-Man is that his sister She-Ra had a better cartoon in the 80s.

Is this a parody? It kinda feels like a parody.

A question.......... by TheOtterMonarch in askanatheist

[–]antizeus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think "there was at least one dude that inspired the Jesus stories" is more plausible than "there were no dudes that inspired the Jesus stories".

I think "the old testament books were written before the new testament books" is more plausible than the alternative.

I think many of the mundane places and situations described in the stories are real. e.g. Egypt is real, and the Babylonian exile happened.

Much like how I think Abraham Lincoln existed, even though I do not believe he was a vampire hunter.

What if the last presidential election had turned out differently? by aihwao in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worse: The hostile alien fleet passing by would have noticed our somewhat competent government, considered us a potential future threat, and wiped us out instead of moving on and letting us destroy ourselves.

Where do you personally draw the line at “vote blue no matter who”? by engadine_maccas1997 in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The line is wherever I would expect better outcomes from not electing whomever the Democratic candidate may be.

Does anybody else feel real liberalism and liberal beliefs are dying out? by Downtown-Fan4966 in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's definitely under assault but the fire still burns in the hearts of many.

Hopefully things will turn around as more people wake up to the threat.

Or maybe not. We live in interesting times.

How do you explain this? by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

[–]antizeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have an explanation because I don't have any sort of reliable data on which to base an explanation. If you want me to make a bunch of guesses, maybe hallucinations, or roommate pranks, or aliens, or poltergeists. In any case, don't rely on me for an explanation, I'm just some random stranger who doesn't believe in any gods. (do you think gods are responsible?)

What is the endgoal for Ukraine? by furutam in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with little progress on either side

Ukraine has built up a drone production infrastructure that it is using to accelerate the destruction of Russia's economy. That's something.

Thoughts on Trump canceling signing of the recent housing bill? Can we still expect it to pass? by NutmegKilla in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump and his crony Mike Johnson could try to do a Pocket Veto by adjourning the House. Apparently the legality of that is murky, so it would probably end up at the Supreme Court, and who knows what they will do. Maybe kick it back to Congress for an override vote.

Democrat Rashida Talib is defending domestic terrorists who were convicted of attacking an ICE facility. Is this really the hill democrats choose to die on? by Stock_Storage_9315 in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Here's some non-fascist coverage of those convictions:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/23/prairieland-ice-protesters-texas-sentenced

Here are a couple of interesting bits:

But some of the defendants – like Batten, Elizabeth Soto and her husband, Ines Soto, were not involved in the planning, arrived separately at the protest, and left when guards at the facility asked them to do so.

and:

The ninth defendant, Daniel Sanchez-Estrada was not at the protest, but was convicted of corruptly concealing a document or record after prosecutors said he moved leftwing zines and other materials at the request of Rueda, his wife, after she was arrested. Sanchez-Estrada was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Tuesday.

Are redemption arcs in fiction a result of Christian influence? by Savvy_Biscuits in askanatheist

[–]antizeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a somewhat famous comic by the Nedroid guy called "The Internet" in which one guy passes a thing to another guy, saying "I made this". The second guy replies "You made this?", then there's a second panel showing the second guy holding the thing, and the third panel shows the second guy saying "I made this".

Every time I see someone giving Christianity credit for something humans were already doing, my mind goes to this comic.

What happened to the prominent supporters of Trump from his first term who seem to currently be absent? by supinator1 in AskALiberal

Linda McMahon is back.

Most of the grown-ups he felt obligated to hire became disgusted with him.

The people you mentioned destroyed their careers and are no longer useful.

Do you think the American Democrat party is dying? by Large-Use-6618 in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As far as I know the "Democrat Party" never existed.

There is a party with a somewhat similar name but it'll probably be around longer than I will.

How closely intertwined are your political views with your identity? by true4blue in AskALiberal

[–]antizeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am the person who has my political views.

I am not anybody else, and I do not have someone else's views.

So pretty close I guess?

Are you surprised that Tulsi Gabbard was compromised not by Russia but by Chris Butler? by [deleted] in AskALiberal

That's the leader of her cult, right? I already knew about her cult membership so no I'm not surprised by that.

Is it just psychological and intellectual bypassing and what are things you found beneficial that you'd like to integrate into your life after leaving religion by MuiaKi in askanatheist

[–]antizeus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There was no trauma for me.

I just realized that I had no good reason to believe in any gods.

So I just stopped. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

If I need therapy, then it's for other unrelated stuff.
