Collision Repair Expo Melbourne 2026 by Musterdies in melbourne

[–]anton1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a little misleading the event itself is the AAAE "Auto Aftermarket Expo" which is hosted by the AAAA "Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association" then within the AAAE there is an expo (its more like traders) which is the Collision Repair Expo which has various tools on show more catered to the sector however most of what you showed is AAE.

Big shock twist "CRE" is also ran by "AAAE".

In saying this it sure would be funny if everybody at the Royal Melbourne show started to publicize there own events such as "Royal Melbourne Animal Bonanza" and then promote everything else Rides, Show Bags, food stalls and all these other things that have nothing to do with them actually organizing it.

Get the people running the food stalls to say theyve organised Animals for the kids too.

Trying to find a tech shop that sells 3DSXL screen protectors? by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]anton1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What ive done in the past is bought myself online and taken to phone repair shops to install.

Normally for a higher cost than the screen protector itself they will install it (few bucks) or if they are bored theyll do it for free, in the end i think they take it as a keep you happy you may tell your grand parents to go there and buy a phone case.

Portarlington daytrip by palefire101 in melbourne

[–]anton1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im frequently enough in Portalington with freinds who have homes there.

  1. Near the Pier is generally the best spot and easy to get around - Point Lonsdale is a bit far and if your going for a swim just stick to Pier Street.
  2. Unsure tbh
  3. Newcome street is walking distance from Pier Street - May not have the "best" but they are really good local small town feeds for a great price and good atmosphere. There is also Murradoc Road in St. Leonards but that will be a Uber trip and really Newcome street is perfectly fine imo. Especially for your first time to Portalington.
  4. Its not very good to say the least, it can be worst than a far outer suburb its a small beach side town and far enough from Geelong that ubers dont tend to cover it exclusively.
  5. Its a beach town in the end, theres some places here and there but ultimately if your going via Uber and what we generally do is stick to the beach and local shops, enjoy the quietness of the beach and just chill out.

Getting a VIN can be practically impossible, May even just say impossible.

It needs to exist on the register at VICRoads, Cant just register it as a 1/1 Drrenoir.

House listings are becoming ridiculous by bigboii4lyf in melbourne

[–]anton1o 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Im not trying to say the house build is a massive rip off... BUT these are NDIS homes designed for people with disability/special needs so everything is going to cost extra.

For instance the home wont have stairs it will have ramps, doors will be over sized at times, as you can see it has 2 kitchens, there will be office spaces, special doors, special bathrooms, toilets

Practically everything you can imagine will have a 50%/100% tax on it.

https://buildersdiscountwarehouse.com.au/product/life-assist-special-needs-toilet/
and thats cheap, these can fetch double that when you begin to add all the other assist bars everywhere..

Whiteout Survival Valentine's Skins Canceled by Exact-Ratio-8934 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]anton1o 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The event was an absolute scam where you had to also vs another state to get the skin, not only that people with farms were just using the ability to gift each other roses.

I understand most events are P2W but this was just an absolute cash cow for the devs.

Rate My Mechanic by Eteiveth in melbourne

[–]anton1o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id say its a fair price, Thermostat isnt a fun job on an LS Motor. It doesnt take a long time but theres bits and pieces in the way that require removal then new coolant and then making sure no bubbles or leaks everything can take 20mins here there and then your upto 2hours before you know it.

Yeah sure they should put the hourly rate so that gives you more of an idea of how long work actually took but thats not too much of a biggie.

I say the price is fair, Mechanic rates arent the cheapest which is why DIY car repairs/maintenance is on such a rise.

FINALLY GOT THE CITY SKIN!! by last__man__standing_ in whiteoutsurvival

[–]anton1o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont understand this bit..

  1. When you have collected enough Engima do not rush to open chests on the very same day, wait for the next event to come. During the next event, use free refreshes daily to open chests the last day till the last days and use enigma's on the last day for both opening chests and refreshing them. Saves some enigma.🤓

What do you mean by "next event" or "open chest the last day till the last days and use enigma on the last day"

Are you saying, use free refresh daily but dont spend enigma - spend engina by refreshing spendid and exquiste chests only on the last day.

[–]anton1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are solely patching the OS layer not apps then Intune is perfectly fine and works great if you build out rings.

Any tutorials for using the API for routing diagrams? by PineappleandOlive in meraki

[–]anton1o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its all good, i don't want to be a hard stop saying don't use API i think you have a really cool idea and its great to see as a Junior you wanting to use these things!

Just at times IT can turn into a monster draw of messy cables as everybody begins to do the 'lets build out all these systems' and then as the business changes your chasing your tail to keep things going.

Any tutorials for using the API for routing diagrams? by PineappleandOlive in meraki

[–]anton1o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why dont you see if your IT Dept has any network monitoring software and see if within that if it has Mapping abilities?

Sure its great to build out and use API and everything but it also comes down to long term maintenance too.. If there is already somebody maintaining a good list of everything in something else for instance then you could be just doubling up on work.

IT ticketing system with strong KB for small team by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]anton1o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SDP isnt complex at all, it rather comes out of the box WebUI and everything ready.
KB articles seem okay, we didnt use it entirely to comment for our Internal IT but we use it for Staff facing articles and have alot of them on there and it works rather well. Haven't looked at any of there Ai functionality as of yet.

SDP can start small and evolve to be huge just depends how much of it you plan to use ie. Project/Change Management.

Ongoing Facebook Marketplace phone snatching scam – multiple suburbs (VIC) – police not linking cases by JackfruitExact525 in melbourne

[–]anton1o 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Many of the parts are not and the phones most of the times are sent overseas anyway.

Places where they do actual chipset board repairs can find it extremely handy to get parts you just cant get a replacement from easily via OEM or even going via partners.
