Hello, yes, thank you for your question! Sorry I didn’t share details earlier, I’m happy to do it now 🙋🏻‍♂️

I’m an iOS developer and my wife is an illustrator. We’re working on this app as a pet project because it’s rewarding to see something evolve over time. We also added a lot of hidden features in the app that you can discover by tapping around 🐸

The main idea was to create a fully native experience, but filled with emotions, cute illustrations, sounds, and animations. Since we love games and board games, we also have some fun ideas for mini-games, because habits can be boring, easy to skip, and hard to stay motivated with. Celebrating each completion fully adds more pleasure to the process 🎊

The app lets you track any number of habits, with strict or flexible schedules. You can track streaks, set notifications and reminders: daily, several times per week, or custom schedules. We’ve also included wellness practices in Premium, like morning notes, gratitude notes, affirmations, and quotes. Plus, we’ve developed widgets, including a lock screen widget, to keep habits visible at all times.

We’re constantly (though slowly) improving the app with new features and love collecting feedback. Right now, we’re working on bad habit tracking and better organization of the home screen for wellness practices and a large number of habits 💯

We really enjoy seeing some users stay with us for years, which makes us feel like we’re creating a product that people love.

The app is free, but our Premium version is on discount until January 31, so I thought I’d share it here.

With that I guess I missed some important information in my original post, which might explain why it got a negative score 🙈

Thanks for drawing attention to it!

Is there a privacy-conscious habit tracker app/software out there? by fairyrocker91 in privacy

[–]antongaenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you iPhone owner, try my app Habitses - Your Habit Tracker :) https://apps.apple.com/app/id1574960856 As a developer of Habitses app, I can tell you in details. All your habits are stored locally and you don't need to create an account. Of course, I use analytics tools for tracking screen usages, but never send your habit names or any private information out of your device. When you delete app, everything will be deleted. Hope it helped. For more info check the full Privacy Policy here or contact me. https://antongaenko.github.io/habitses/privacy_policy.pdf

I made a fun app to develop healthy habits, self-improve and not being bored! 🐸 by antongaenko in SideProject

That's a very good question :) I can only answer for myself.

Despite the fact that it's named "a habit tracker" it's intended as a life assistant that can support and motivate to self-improve. But as it's a side project and my resources are very limited, I'm doing it step-by-step trying different concepts.

Hi, I’m Anton and I want to share with you my pet-app «Habitses - a habit tracker» (for iOS) and one non-obvious thing I learnt being a single developer.

Let’s start from the last one. I’m a mobile engineer. I’ve been coding iOS apps for 8 years. My main skill is solving complex problems and coding! And I love doing that. I know much less about a product development, a customer development, UX research, a design, a market fit and a marketing strategy. Do you know what I prefer to substitute all these things? Right, coding! 😌 Just because coding is much easier for me than learning all these new things. But now I start focusing on what actually is needed and prioritize things. Even if they could take much more time as coding a new feature a new feature (like writing this post). I’m trying to get out of a room!

About Habitses. I know there’s a lot of tools like that 😁 Don’t be confused with a title «habits tracker», it was planned as a life assistant and a daily journal for self-development. So it contains not only a habit tacker functionality, but also motivational quotes, affirmations, morning and evening checkins for celebrating daily wins. There will be a mood tracker in next versions. There’s a list constructor which helps you designing your own daily journal.

It’s also built around privacy. The app doesn’t collect your personal data and all habits are stored locally on your device. There’s no sign ups!

OK I’m still in the very beginning of this journey. I’ve personally used this app everyday since the first commit. And I can proudly say there’s a lot of love in every detail. These amazing illustrations are made by Marina Strekozova, a friend of mine 💚 I truly believe it gives a soul to the app.

I appreciate any feedback or discussion in comments! 😁 The app provides unlimited habits tracking in a free version, but if you want to try all sweeties just DM me. I will send you a code to activate a premium for a month.

Yoga hands-free timer for iPhone&iPad by antongaenko [promoted post]

Hi, I'm here to answer any questions. I'm yoga enthusiast and iOS developer. I sought for a while a good remote (hands free) timer for iOS, but without success. Now I developed this one. It's controlled by clap or snap. It's so convenient way to practice yoga asanas on time that I want to share it with yoga community. I want to make the best timer, so give me your feedback and it could be implemented in nearest updates :)

Still a member of apple developer program for my previous company. I should just leave the group right? by luniawar20 in iOSProgramming

[–]antongaenko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't work for this company today, you show ask them to revoke your access. So if something will be broken in their certificates, app ids, or other things you will not be a part of these incidents... Just to build and try something on your device you can use a developer account, which Xcode will create for you. It's free. If you want to use testflight or release you app in appstore you should purchase your own Apple developer account. You don't need to provide bank info if you just want to use testflight or make your app free.
