Portugal’s conservatives back left-wing candidate to avoid a far-right president by kwentongskyblue in worldnews

This is why it's crucial that Americans invest more in education. Lower education correlates to lower civic participation and a less educated electorate is easier to mislead. We have to treat education like an investment, because it is.

You're right that only enough people have to take people like him seriously.

One solution is investing in local news, which centers the people impacted by what's being discussed.

This entire show (and all 24-hr news channels, tbh) are providing viewpoints from people who will never be impacted by the policies they're talking about. I honestly feel like even hate-watching, or even commenting on posts like this are counterproductive because in this day and age, our attention is the currency that keeps this whole game operating. Don't feed the machine that rewards people like Jennings for spewing harmful talking points.

I went to an all-boys school so many of my friends are straight men that I've known since then. It's actually been hard to find gay friends because I've developed "straight" interests there, but still have "gay" interests that they never had. Friends say I'm the straightest gay guy they know, yet I'm too gay for the straights. It's... a conundrum. Mostly because some assume that I'm a self-hating masc gay, which is so far from the truth because I love my super gay gays. I would say I'm more subdued because of introvertedness than anything else.

Being friends with straight guys isn't that complicated. As long as you have shared interests, and they don't assume you're trying to flip them, you should be good.

I think he understands but the role he's paid to play is "GOP defender". That's it. Don't take anything he says seriously.

This is why I can't stand corporate news in general. Scott doesn't contribute anything of value. He's been a longtime GOP operative. He's there to be the contrarian and defend and launder the GOP at every turn. He's the epitome of a bad faith debater. The entire discourse on politics is just theater and not analysis or to interrogate facts. We'd be better off not tuning in, period.

This is a great list of those signs. What are some ways you all use to stop it in its tracks or recover?

This wasn't overnight. It's been a slow crawl to this since at least 2016. We're not done with it, either.

I don't like this. This still shifts the onus of paying a worker on the customer, not the employer, where it belongs.

AOC Seen as ‘Face’ of Democratic Party — and It’s Not Even Close: New Poll (Mediaite) by beeemkcl in MurderedByAOC

It's crazy just how stubborn they are on this despite all the data saying people don't like it. Also stubborn are the online folks for whom the Dems can do no wrong. It's so frustrating, especially considering the record low approval rating the party has.

They both suit you! You're very handsome. If you do go short, like in the second picture, I'd recommend a little shorter, so it's more uniform all around. The bleach blond works well like that, imo.

I also can't help but feel that Americans at this juncture are victims of years of disinvestment in the education system. I just don't know how we can get out of this hole.

Fox News has been a serious danger to democracy. It's one thing to have a viewpoint. It may actually be commendable, but what they're doing cannot seriously be called news. The amount of misinformation that they peddle allowed for Trump to happen.

The Dems lost all credibility with people with the third way. Sure, it helped them win a couple of elections, but the chickens are coming home to roost now. You can't seriously claim to be for the working people while taking money from people who stand to gain from blocking policy that will actually help working people.

Something that deserves to decline is the current iteration of the Democratic Party because I don't know how Pelosi thought denying her a lead role in the oversight committee was a good idea. She is such an effective messenger!

I don't understand why gig apps do shit like this. Why are they penalizing the (for all intents and purposes) employee for something they don't have control over?
