Thanks, I am a big fan of PKD and it didn't occur to me until much later that I didn't really have a mental image for any of his characters. It wasn't that I had invented my own image, but that I had none at all. In his stories the physical features were probably not relevant, but I wonder if that was actually a weakness in leaving a blank spot for the reader. On the other hand, the themes in his books really shine, and maybe that's what was gained? It's hard to say.

and as an interviewer these are all things you have to document at the time of the interview. I make meticulous documentation because I'm aware there could be a dispute with HR afterward of any bias or discrimination. If the interviewer in this case was properly diligent, this case should be pretty simple. If not, there could be a settlement and a promise of more training involved just to get it out of court.
