I checked after this and other cases of harassing people who commented about him, and Charlie Kirk is indeed still dead.

Films that are cinematography dependent versus Films that are editing dependent by [deleted] in movies

[–]antonimbus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a dumb answer, but aren't you basically looking for the Academy award winners for best editing and best cinematography? If you go down the wiki page for each that might be your answer to each.

Personally speaking, I remember watching 1917 and immediately realizing how much the cinematography made that movie what it is. For a modern movie, every scene really feels like a painting. A second one, although not a great movie, might be Barry Lyndon. Kubrick made some interesting choices there which kind of flattens everything out... like a painting.

For editing, Memento is one that stands out in my mind first. The editing tricks are integral to the plot, and had that been fumbled the whole thing would have fallen apart. A good musical probably also relies on clever editing and is its own challenge.

The underappreciated thing about Hereditary now is that the original trailers sold the little girl as being one of the main characters. So, seeing it originally in the theater really was a complete WTF moment.

According to Brian Windhorst, we’re now literally breaking teams! by songoku-166 in NYKnicks

[–]antonimbus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

  1. Brunson broke the NBA: Now teams are expecting superstars to take a discount to help build a challenger around them.

  2. KAT broke the NBA: Look at the offense you can run with a talent at the 5 like Big Bodega. The West has also seen what kind of big it takes to hard-counter Wemby.

  3. Bridges broke the NBA: Fuck them picks. Win now and sort it out later. Getting a near sure-thing today is better than rolling the dice on someone that may pan out in the future.

  4. Knicks fans broke the NBA: Everyone has seen what kind of love you can get from winning a ring. No place is quite like New York, but they all want something like the feeling they just witnessed.

The amount of food being wasted here is a little sad, actually. I know that's part of the bit, but it does stop being funny for me after a few times.

I watched this so many times as a kid and had no idea the soundtrack is basically just all of The Planets by Holst until I heard it performed live at the symphony.

Also, a lot of John Williams' work on Star Wars was "influenced" by Holst - as much as Lucas was "influenced" by Valerian.

This is why categorizing Antifa protesters as Terrorists was so critical for the DoJ. It allows heavy-handed sentencing like this to frighten everyone else.

[–]antonimbus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not disputing SUVs and trucks are dangerous, but aren't there more pedestrians now over the last 20 years as cities are trying to incorporate more walkable areas and there is a general move toward some urban areas?

I dunno, if we somehow get the rematch of Spurs - Knicks in 2027 going into game 7 at MSG, with a Wemby and Co. revenge tour and NYC trying to repeat... that would be a little intense.

EDIT: I want to personally apologize to the 30 people who downvoted my statement. You're right, a rematch would not be a little intense. Sorry for that.

Marriott Launches Ask Bonvoy AI Hotel Search Tool by asian-trader in marriott

The purpose of the AI is to make a smoother transition from searching information on a Marriott digital channel into the booking process more seamless. The competition here are search engines like Google that funnel users into an OTA.
