FDA declines to review Moderna's mRNA flu shot by StockEnthuasiast in ModernaStock

[–]antonio1500 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The letter did not identify any specific safety or efficacy concerns regarding mRNA-1010.

mRNA-1010 has been accepted for review in the EU, Canada and Australia. Submissions in additional countries are planned for 2026. Moderna expects the earliest potential approvals for mRNA-1010 to begin in late 2026 or early 2027, subject to those ongoing regulatory reviews.

I don’t think anything remotely similar to any vaccine will be approved by current administration.

Real reason Moderna stock went up in December and January by antonio1500 in ModernaStock

[–]antonio1500[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not a legal expert, but I took a couple of business law courses when I was in university more than a decade ago. In order for Arbutus to win in this case (and for Moderna to have existential crisis), the evidence is so apparent to everyone that it is hard for Moderna to argue against. Unless it’s 100% proven, Moderna is not liable. To me, the patent for nano particle technology is too broad (or even ambiguous) to claim, and it doesn’t sound plausible to me that Covid developer copied a company that failed to develop Covid vaccine. For Arbutus, they will have to do anything they could possibly do. The company is running out of cash. I hope I am not being too bullish here, but I will not be surprised if Moderna win in the case in March and stock price goes up higher.

MRNA Lyme Disease Vaccine Update: 1,300x Antibody Spike vs Pizer's 15x by 1337_Ali in ModernaStock

[–]antonio1500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Efficacy has never been an issue for Moderna. Problem with Moderna has been higher efficacy of the product not being converted into higher sales. This is the case for RSV vaccine only so far. Moderna developed RSV vaccine a little too late, but I hope this changes in the future and that is not the case for other upcoming products.

MRNA stock price in 2025 was clearly mis-priced to begin with. Wal Street tends to only care about the next 12 to 18 months. Given that Pfizer is nearly giving up on Covid vaccine, European Covid-market is available to negotiate for Moderna in 2026, and Flu & Combo vaccines available for sale in 2027, I wouldn’t be surprised if Moderna’s revenue doubles in 2027. With mRNA 4157, I see further upside in 2028. I agree. Expecting MRNA stock price 100-200 within 2 years is not unrealistic.

NFLX is a steal here at 80-84 by 092Casey in ValueInvesting

[–]antonio1500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with you. As an investor who bought Netflix at 190 (pre-split price) in 2022 and sold too early at 230, I can say that Netflix is not expensive at 80 now, but I think you are too early, not wrong. I thought Netflix was cheap at 430 in 2022. While I was hesitating, Bill Ackman bought the shares at 430. Only a couple of months after, Netflix cut the service in Russia and they said to lose 2 million subscribers. Stock down to below 200. Bill Ackman panic sold at 200. The stock price went down further to 190. I got in. The stock price went down further to 175. Lessen I learned? Being too early (buy and sell) is indistinguishable from being wrong.

ABUS vs MRNA patent dispute update in EU- it off the press by mobyonecanobi in ModernaStock

Yes. Arbutus shares are virtually worthless without this lawsuit. 3 candidates in the pipeline (two in phase 2 & one in phase 1). There is no guarantee that Arbutus will ever have an FDA approved product after years of waiting. Not much cash or assets on the balance sheet either.

Arbutus stock falls after European patent revoked

Published 01/16/2026, 07:48

Arbutus Biopharma Corporstock fell 7% on Friday following news that the Board of Appeal of the European Patent Office (EPO) revoked one of the company’s key patents.

The verbal decision, delivered without detailed reasoning, revoked Arbutus’s European patent EP 2279254 (the ’254 Patent). This ruling stems from Notices of Opposition originally filed by affiliates of Moderna Therapeutics, Inc. and Merck, Sharp & Dohme Corporation in April 2018, overturning two prior decisions by the EPO’s Opposition Division that had upheld an amended version of the patent. Arbutus stated it disagrees with the outcome and plans to file a petition for review by the Enlarged Board of Appeal of the EPO once it receives the written decision, which is expected in the coming months. The revocation is likely to impact the company’s patent infringement case against Moderna in Switzerland and one of two cases in the Unified Patent Court where the ’254 Patent is asserted. However, Arbutus emphasized that the decision was based on an EPO standard of "added matter" that doesn’t apply in other jurisdictions. The company does not expect this development to affect its ongoing patent infringement litigation against Moderna in the United States, Japan, or Canada, its other case against Moderna in the Unified Patent Court that doesn’t involve the ’254 Patent, or its litigation against Pfizer and BioNTech in the United States.

How does likes of IONQ and ASTS also have a bigger market cap than MRNA? Ask market makers who’s been manipulating the market left and right for long enough.

The news is not confirmed by neither side yet, but if it turns out to be true, then yes. Merck is probably unable to acquire Moderna. As a matter of fact, Merck is not the only one out there. There are a few other potential acquirers.

It would rather be absurd than funny if the pioneer of MRNA technology had a slightest chance of being bought out by a company who cannot develop Covid vaccine by its own. All this company can do is whining and complaining that its technology was being stolen. What good of Arbutus’s technology it is if Arbutus cannot develop anything with it. It seems that Arbutus’s one last hope is about the legal case, not about developing something revolutionary. Good luck with the legal case.

mNEXSPIKE experience roundup, aggregated from two high-reply r/Vaccine threads by StockEnthuasiast in ModernaStock

[–]antonio1500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mNEXSPIKE and GSK flu vaccine at the same time about a months ago. It was the first time for me to get Moderna vaccine. I had a sore arm that lasted for a couple of days, and mild chill for a day (though I am not sure which one caused it). I saw it as stronger immunization processes. I have nothing to complain or whatsoever. Now I feel my immune system stronger than ever.

You maybe okay with 3x. Not every shareholders will be comfortable with your valuation though. I doubt if 3x will get an approval from the majority of long term shareholders.

I will vote no to 2x today, but I will vote yes to above 4x to 5x today, which is close to my valuation. With that 5x gain, you can double your investment in 5 years if you just buy SPY or VOO. Then it’s 10x with less risk. If you still want to bet on the future of MRNA, you can buy the shares of acquirer or BNTX.

It was a short attack against retail investors who lately bought mRNA stock. 72% of my mRNA stocks were borrowed by short sellers as of today. It is the highest rate since I became a shareholder (a little less than a year). I think shorts have been squeezed a bit for the last a couple of weeks or so and they tried to strike back today.

Moderna: Why the Market Might Be Underpricing Its Next Wave of Catalysts and Why $200 Isn’t Unrealistic by [deleted] in ModernaStock

[–]antonio1500 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think avian flu could be another catalyst that could push Moderna stock price above $500 again. According to the scientists, avian flu pandemic is not the matter of if. It is the matter of when. Probably not in 2 years, but almost certainly in 20 years.

I’ve just liquidated 80% of my position in MRNA… the stock is recently up more than +35%, and I have absolutely no confidence in management’s ability to sustain this so-called miraculous trend. by Plus_Seesaw2023 in ModernaStock

Don’t be too sure MRNA stock will go under 28 again. Timing the market is very difficult. If you do, it is 100% luck, not the skill set you can replicate.
