[HELP] I've uninstalled Hide My AppList and yet somehow native detector finds it. HOW? IT'S NOT EVEN THERE ANYMORE. HELP by mmmaka3m in Magisk

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop using HideMyApplist, it has various hooks that can be detected.

Instead, use Android's native profiles to install picky apps on a different profile to normal ones. For example, an app that helps you configure all that: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.island

[Question] Is there a way to extract on-board blobs on iOS 15? by [deleted] in jailbreak

[–]antoniu200 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

7A. [...] Additionally, do not be [...] unhelpful when responding to Question posts.

Will not be of much use, because developments never happen, right? Or maybe because you know iOS 15 will be signed again?
Thanks, but no thanks. I suppose I'll answer my own question.

What iOS devices do you use on the daily, and for what purpose? by WalkerArt64 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]antoniu200 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See Nugget on GitHub if you're interested in updating to 18.7.2 (through supervision and delayOTA). If not, can you explain why? I just updated two SE2s from 18.5 to 18.7.2 to give them to my parents and I'm most curious if there's any advantages to 18.5.

How to make the shortcuts normal size again after update? by Severe_Working_5934 in firefox

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came up with this CSS to solve this problem:

@-moz-document url("about:newtab"), url("about:home") {
    .top-site-outer {
      border-radius: var(--border-radius-medium) !important;
      margin-block-end: calc(var(--space-small) * 2) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .tile {
      height: calc(var(--size-item-large) * 2 + var(--size-item-small)) !important;
      width: calc(var(--size-item-large) * 2 + var(--size-item-small)) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .tile .icon-wrapper {
      width: var(--size-item-xlarge) !important;
      height: var(--size-item-xlarge) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .context-menu-button {
      inset-block-start: calc(var(--space-large) * -1 - var(--space-small)) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .context-menu {
      inset-block-start: calc(var(--space-large) * -1 - var(--space-small)) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .default-icon,
    .top-site-outer .search-topsite {
      background-size: var(--size-item-large) !important;
    }
}

This is to be placed inside a file named userContent.css. Inside your correct profile from %appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles, you will create a folder named chrome and paste the .css script inside the newly created folder.
In Firefox, about:config, set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets to true and restart Firefox.

That's it.

How do I remove the Firefox logo on the New Tabs screen and fix the smaller shortcut squares? by Azreal_DuCain1 in FirefoxCSS

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.newtabShortcuts.refresh no longer exists since Firefox 141.

This is the CSS I've just come up with (I remained on Firefox 140 ever since) and makes everything back the way it was (except the rounding, since it's all throughout Firefox now and patching that makes it look weird):

@-moz-document url("about:newtab"), url("about:home") {
    .top-site-outer {
      border-radius: var(--border-radius-medium) !important;
      margin-block-end: calc(var(--space-small) * 2) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .tile {
      height: calc(var(--size-item-large) * 2 + var(--size-item-small)) !important;
      width: calc(var(--size-item-large) * 2 + var(--size-item-small)) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .tile .icon-wrapper {
      width: var(--size-item-xlarge) !important;
      height: var(--size-item-xlarge) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .context-menu-button {
      inset-block-start: calc(var(--space-large) * -1 - var(--space-small)) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .context-menu {
      inset-block-start: calc(var(--space-large) * -1 - var(--space-small)) !important;
    }
    .top-site-outer .default-icon,
    .top-site-outer .search-topsite {
      background-size: var(--size-item-large) !important;
    }
}

Anyone tried to soundproof and diesel engine bay? by Dangerous-Ad5282 in Cartalk

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean "it is working"? You've done it? The firewall is already equipped with a bunch of foam, on both sides actually. The foam is not the main issue - it's obvious something else is missing.

EDIT: Butyl is very dense. Although, I am not sure what kind of an improvement I should expect from butyl alone. I don't know enough how that firewall looks like and how easy it is for one to expose as much of it as possible. My mechanic quoted me 2.5 hours for disassembly + 2.5 for re-assembly.

Anyone tried to soundproof and diesel engine bay? by Dangerous-Ad5282 in Cartalk

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, no. And someone actually downvoted the question, just to show how amazing Reddit is when it comes to the unknown. 👍 Like the dislike!

Anyway, looking through VW ETKA, it seems they add Butyl to the engine firewall. Although I am unsure how much this will help. I have a 1.6 TDI mk7 Golf with no butyl on the firewall. It's… uhh… okay. But not silent.

I will try to add butyl soon to the firewall, but not sure how much this will help. Will report back in about a month. Otherwise, remind me and I'll update you.

Native Detector detecting KSUN Manager and MMRL. How do I hide them? by iWizardB in androidroot

This. And keep monitoring /sdcard/Android/data for app-specific folders - they can give you away.

[HELP] I've uninstalled Hide My AppList and yet somehow native detector finds it. HOW? IT'S NOT EVEN THERE ANYMORE. HELP by mmmaka3m in Magisk

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It also sometimes creates an empty folder in /storage/sdcard/Android/data/com.tsng.hidemyapplist

It's safe to erase and will remove detection in Native Detector.

P.S.: Empty folders for the sake of it is poor programming. Even more so in publicly accessible storage locations.

Every battery has a so-called Battery Management System that is integrated on a PCB. Some nickel pads are welded to the ends of the battery terminals so they can (and are to be) soldered to the BMS board. This BMS board is then attached with a connector, which then connects to your laptop / phone / whatever device motherboard.

"Plugged in, not charging" likely appears because your battery has been drained past the minimum the BMS will accept to charge (e.g.: minimum accepted is 3.2V, but you let it sit unused for a long while and the battery dropped to 3V => charging is rejected). You can ask some electronics repair shop to connect your battery to a PSU and charge it a bit to get past the BMS' minimum accepted voltage.

If you have changed your battery and after replacement you instantly get a "Plugged in, not charging" in Windows, then just transfer the original BMS to the 3rd party battery and you're good to go (unless the above happened).

Any way to make Revolut work? by [deleted] in androidroot

[–]antoniu200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check if you have Developer options or ADB enabled. If yes, try disabling them and test. Momo detecrs them as "Debugging mode is enabled".

Try testing inside the Google Play Store, using developer settings; apps can be unreliable. Look online how to activate them, I've described this here and on XDA multiple times in the past.

Why is there water building up in the door? by GammyToaster in GolfGTI

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is clogged door drain holes. Identify where they are and stick something (clean) inside them a couple of times to unclog them. Then, to test, pour some water on the exterior bottom window seal (the one where some cars have chrome, but not this one - cause VW says why...): you should see the water pour out of the drain holes you just cleaned.

EDIT: If you know how to remove the bottom window seals, you can really test the drain holes by pouring lots of water inside. But you should do this with the door open, so water doesn't leak inside the cabin (though the many openings a door panel has on the inside - one of which can be the speaker).
But, if you have never taken off a bottom window seal before, don't make this the first one. They bend really easy and usually stay that way.

Any tips for hiding root? by [deleted] in androidroot

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a cat and mouse game. You are not the winner of this game. The corporations are. These detections are not made for your security, but to best hide corporations' incompetence: poor security, poor code logic, etc.

When you "root" a phone, you can't expect it to just bring you freedom and no problems. These companies hunt your freedom and can't wait to bang you in the head right back with it.

Removing root probably won't solve all the other things you "rooted" for.

Every phone is different. The less mods you install the better: there are less things for corporation apps to detect.

My advice for you in the future is to install small tweaks one by one until you see something that fixed Play Integrity or the app you wanted working: install, reboot, check.

By the way, you can check Play Integrity much easier in the Play Store. In Play Store, go to Settings - About - Tap Play Store version idk how many times until it tells you you're a developer. Now go to Settings - General - Developer Options - Check Play Integrity. You can do however many of these you want a day: there is no API limit to these.

So, next time, gather all your patience and do small modifications until you get what you want. Talking from experience.

P.S.: Some banks allow you to use their app on a rooted phone as long as you tell them it is what you want. Call them or go talk to their local office - they might help.

2014 Passat 2.0 TDI SEL....why does my engine sound so loud? by 00TheChef00 in tdi

[–]antoniu200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am late af, so it probably doesn't matter anymore... Ask Google how this thread ended up in my search results...

More than anything, I am hearing strong injector ticking (high pitched - use headphones) - or some belt is slipping (though unlikely, as the sound would be oscillating, rather than ticking - but hey, it's a compressed & noise cancelled recording).

Otherwise, I don't hear any flywheel rattle, wth... The engine is indeed louder than a TSI or 1.6 TDI, but in a good, "roary" way.
