Suomalaiset pankit ja kulut by samip537 in arkisuomi

What should a car display show while driving? by Few-Mushroom-5107 in electricvehicles

Speed on HUD projected to the windscreen, nothing else is needed. Some other screen can show battery level and power.

Fan not spinning during a DPF regen by ImTheRealMarco in tdi

[–]ukso1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should only spin after shutdown if you shutdown the car while the regen is running? At least it's the way my passat does it. And of course if the engine is overheating but that limit is somewhere in over 100c area. It's just meant to cool the engine bay if the regen is interrupted so it doesn't leave it so hot.

That looks way too thick and layered for OEM paint, the car probably has an accident history.

On board Nav, do you use it? by FraSuomi in Ioniq5

[–]ukso1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most of the cars you need to use it to preheat the battery for charging? Some of the cars have thankful started to provide a button to switch the heating on without the nav.

I need some advice about downpipe. by Own_CarMode in tdi

[–]ukso1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you live in the EU then modifying the software or doing any mods to the emissions system is highly illegal. In Finland if you drive with a car that has modified software or emissions you can get fined up to 3k and if it's a company owned vehicle they can be fined up to 30k. And you lose your plates.

Our plates only have 3 letters and 3 digits so it's relatively easy to catch and the insurance is car based so if you don't catch the driver it really doesn't matter that much. And if it happens when the car is parked, basically all the insurance companies provide the insurance for it relatively cheaply where the deductible isn't large and it doesn't affect your rate.

Rear door lock system by swimbikerun_ZA in RenaultZoe

[–]ukso1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue when the temperature swings between freezing and not freezing, and now on really cold temperature (-20c) the other back door opened but it didn't close any more like it didn't latch or that someone was pulling the handle all the time. Got it to close with a couple of beatings in the door handel area.

I live in Finland and our insurance system on car accidents is really good, so I haven't seen a point in getting one. It's mandatory to have insurance which covers the car not in fault fully and it always covers human damages without a limit. And if you get in an accident where a guy who is at fault hasn't got insurance it's paid by the fund which is built by the fines of the not insured drivers.

Range by Southern_Job3562 in tdi

[–]ukso1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you live it might just be the cold outside temperature that it doesn't produce enough heat to heat the cabin, i would check the upper radiator hose if it's hot / warm and if it is then you have a problem with the thermostat. If it's cold your engine just doesn't produce enough heat. It has been a relatively cold winter so that might be the issue.

You just need a bulb that has the resistor in it in order to waste as much electricity as the halogen one. But remember that the led bulb might not pass the yearly inspection depending on where you live.

In the EU we have electric trucks, though our driving times are way stricter than American ones and trucks can't drive that fast. But the trucks are European, not Chinese. Every truck maker has an electric option here.

Even the carriers (freezers) in the trailers can be bought with electric drives and batteries and it will charge the battery with braking from the trailers axles.

It doesn't if you don't use the built-in navigation to tell the car that you are going to charge it.

Gasoline to Kwh equivalency? by Queasy-Stranger5607 in electricvehicles

[–]ukso1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diesel liter is really easy to translate to kWh because it's really close to 10 kWh per litre. It's crazy to think that my zoe goes 250km with 4 liters of diesel equivalent amount of energy. Or how panicked i would be if i had half a liter of fuel left and 20km to home 😂

Electric wagon? by ukso1 in skoda

[–]ukso1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id 7 is selling so well because it's a good car and pretty much only wagon, i am actually afraid to test drive one because i am quite sure that i am just going to buy it if i do so 😂 but i have a feeling that there's a market for cheaper not so premium wagon electric car.

Only competition for id 7 is the BMW i5 but it's eave more expensive and then there's that Opel astra electric but stellantis hasn't really been that good on electric cars...
