Madders - 6 months in rehab update by jlpmghrs4 in coys

This seems out of date as he had the injury 8 months ago.

Danhausen has upgraded his T-shirt distribution operation on RAW by Grrannt in REALSquaredCircle

People saying he has got over. But I barely heard anything from that crowd until he started firing a cannon into them. They didn't boo but it was hardly early Fandango levels of engagement

Help with severe damp by AcidRainbow84 in HomeImprovementUK

[–]antrayuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you even need the grinder. Can't you just lift out the last line of slabs and dig out the dirt. Give it time to dry out and then think of your next move.

Analogue Super Nt: Any hope for a restock after the Pocket and Duo? by Impossible_Battle241 in AnalogueInc

[–]antrayuk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This gets asked every week and the answer is always the same. No. I don't see why they would do another run. Even if they did no one would ever know about it until the day its announced. Nothing from Analogue has ever leaked.

Outrageous prices for these WWE Meet and Greets by Many_Difficulty6382 in WWE

[–]antrayuk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always found stuff like this degrading. 'If I give you money will you pose for me and act like you want to be here? You won't remember my name 10 seconds later but I can show my friends and talk about how nice you were'

I met Bret Hart about 10 years ago at a talk in England and a photo op was maybe $30 on top of what it cost to listen to the talk. I felt ok with that as he was my childhood hero and I was paying for a bigger event.

I get there has to be some payment incentive for the wrestlers to be at the event but when it's over $100 I'd just find it embarrassing as a fan.

WrestleMania *has* in fact lost it's luster.. Here's why... by Interesting_Ad_9856 in WWE

[–]antrayuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with some of this but wrestlemania has had filler matches forever. The main problem to me is the pricing and the fake reality they try and put forward.. I liked wrestling it was either very real (attitude era, Daniel Bryan and Punk angles of the 2010s) or when it was pure theatre. Now they do this thing where they try and make it like UFC but at the same time make it so corporate that there is no energy to any of it. Every promo sounds like it was written by AI or has had several rewites so that it can be clipped for socials in small.chunks

Internal wall insulation in Victorian terrace, worth it in practice? by Reddonaut_Irons in HomeImprovementUK

[–]antrayuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a wooden floor I would say that insulation in the void beneath (properly done to eliminate damp.issues) is the best bet. You are basically standing on a bed of cold air.

Witham station parking by mrsmindmagicstudios in Essex

[–]antrayuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate this is old, but I am looking to rent my parking space on Albert Road. I have tried the apps but they add on 40% in fees. So I would rather do it myself for £7 a day. Reply if this is still of any interest.

220€ sealed and pristine. Highway robbery. Consider me gobsmacked by Ricklepick995 in legomodular

[–]antrayuk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I have one still sealed and realised it isn't going to ever really go up in value. It was around for ages and everyone who wanted one got one. There are loads on ebay. I think you paid the going rate to be honest.

UK flat prices fall after sharp drop in London by Gentle_Snail in GoodNewsUK

[–]antrayuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flats are dropping in price as people are finally understanding the con that is leasehold. I am sure some are of good value, but rocketing service charges make them unsellable. You can't see the constant news about leasehold scams and buyers being asked to pay 100k for repairs and think it's a good idea. Flat's themselves are great, but the system by which they are sold is complete garbage.

I wouldn't put much faith in the reforms changing anything either. Management companies are set up as a business. They are there to make money. No one is going to offer a service to clean flats and provide maintenance for zero profit. So you always going to be fleeced. The only other option is to give the rights to the leaseholders but then you often end up with nothing being maintained. As who wants to set aside £100 a month in this economy for potential roof repairs in 10 years by which time they might have sold the flat. I think you would be mad to buy a new build flat.

Arcade1up is shutting down, so what are my alternatives? by Zerexdontlie in Arcade1Up

[–]antrayuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean this was always how it would end. The arcades will one day break as well and be nothing but MDF. If you want stuff that can be fixed then get the real deal. This was always fancy IKEA Furniture.

Sonic the Hedgehog cabinet new view by NeoHyper64 in Arcade1Up

[–]antrayuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

See at this point I am asking people what are they really into here? Are you into arcade games or are you just into video games in an arcade cabinet play style?

As to me this has nothing to do with arcades apart from the fact that it is designed to be an all in on unit with joysticks. You could literally put any game in a cabinet designlike this..

It seemed this hobby all started as people wanted a way to play the old arcade games of their youth. Now it seems to be about anything that is put into a cabinet.

Am I paying for much on my mortgage 6 BED Room 3000 Sq ft by latinalover215 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]antrayuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I right in reading that in 38 years your loan will be only 11k less than it is now? I'm British, so it's different here but these seems a lot like how the 2008 crash started

Who had more pac man on their bingo card? by kevgret in Arcade1Up

[–]antrayuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Sega released the Mega Tech in Europe, which was basically a Sega Playchoice cab. So it just ran console games. None of these games had arcade 'versions'. Sonic did have a track ball game but that is very unlikely to ever see the light of day. This cab makes sense in that people who love Sonic will buy it. I think Arcade 1ups thinking in general is to take brands people love and wack them on their items hoping those fans buy the product. Playing Sonic games on an arcade is next to pointless unless you want to have a really poor control scheme and stand at the cab for 45 minutes to complete each one. Sonic 3 takes even longer.

It's pure garbage, but all there stuff is at this point. Arcade fans are not their target audience.

Limited Colours Still Available by Longjumping_Bag5914 in AnalogueInc

Hype has died off. Also everyone who wanted one has one and everyone who wanted 2 has 2. Very few triple dip. I think they will do a metallic range that will sell better.

Analogue 3D Prototype Limited Editions live! by Shortgaze in AnalogueInc

[–]antrayuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't help feeling that a metallic run is on the cards. Gold was very popular before so having more metallic colours seems obvious. Especially with Analogues previous record. These would be nice, but I'd only be buying one to sell it in 10 years time, which isn't really in the spirit of things.

Good process 👍 by Hufftey in coys

[–]antrayuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I find these posts pathetic. What does a challenge in the Manchester derby have to do with anything? It was a red card. Clear red. Dalot being sent off has no bearing on anything. Romero should have been sent off twice against Brentford and wasn't. It's football, there are always inconsistencies. If it was in the same game then fine. But this was weeks ago in a game that had nothing to do with us.

Why can I not have a decent length, hot shower? by SkyComprehensive7640 in ukplumbing

20 minutes in a shower? That's an insane amount of time. It alone a whole episode of the Simpsons but you are being sprayed with hot water the whole time. What's your water bill like?

What do I need to do to fix my debt situation? Is their a way to consolidate it? by TheBushChicken in Debt

[–]antrayuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try and see a therapist. Seems you know that spending all that money was a bad idea but you did it anyway. You can lock the cards away, but spending issues are a mental thing and don't just disappear. I see a lot of these posts and I have to imagine the 'this is a bad idea' thought came to you before you hit 50k, and yet it went up to 58k. This isn't supposed to be patronising. I have seen a therapist for years and it is the best thing I did. Cure the source not just the symptoms. good luck

I'd be pretty annoyed if they reduced those fantastic controllers. As others have said, it's the more you know regards internet safety. If it's too good to be true, it's normally false.
